Res-able Supply Caravans ...
It would make killing yaks pointless as someone could just come along after you leave and revive the yak.

Surely, by that logic it’s pointless to capture anything because someone could just come along and take it back.

There’s a difference though. Yak’s carry supply. If they can be revived then killing them doesn’t really matter as someone can just revive it after you leave.
Also, when you take camps/towers/keeps, you cut off those points from them and cause them to lose all current upgrades.

Besides taking a structure, the only way to deny it upgrades is to kill the yaks feeding into it. If you’re severely outnumbered, this is sometimes the only option to prevent a stronger enemy from building waypoints in your BL.
Yak slapping is also a great way for solo players to contribute to their server.
Yep. And the second someone leaves after killing a yak, someone else can revive it and it continues on with delivering supply as if it had never been killed.

Fixed it for you. My point being, you’ve still contributed to your server by downing their supply caravan, it’s now up to them to come out and rez it.
Anyway, wouldn’t this be a good way to give people some hope when severely outnumbered? Or could it be used by an outnumbering side to somehow tip the balance yet further in their favour?
I thought the revivable yaks disappear after a certain amount of time.

Yes, you have to revive them within 1 minute or they despawn and the event fail.

Would be a nice way to get yak slapper. Team up with some enemies kill dolly let them ress kill dolly let them ress etc etc.

Sounds like a great mechanic for WvW. Instead of just having to burst down the Dolyak in 1-3 seconds, you have to defend the corpse if you want to deny the supplies.
Make the corpse defense like the cap circle for a guard. When the yak dies a circle appears. You have to secure the circle for 10 seconds (time not scaled like other caps) to get reward for killin the yak and the enemy can contest it to resurrect the yak. If the enemy wins the contest then the yak gets rezzed.
I want it that way to allow everyone to get credit for the yak kill even if they didn’t manage to land a blow on it and to make it something to fight over. Anet could even make it so the yak distributes it’s supply load among those who captured it, depending on it’s current destination. A yak going to stonemist would give more supply than a yak going to ogrewatch.

If you think this isn’t an issue then you probably haven’t played WvW enough.
If a server can revive a dead yak (yes it is dead) then you killing it only barely slowed it down. Currently if you kill a yak, it disappears from the map and goes onto a 5 min respawn timer. You make it even more difficult to starve enemy servers of supply.

Although a sound theory, the idea of starving supply doesn’t realistically work in GW2.
In my experience, when you are trying to starve enemy servers of supply, they either;
- are the outmanning side, bring a lot of people to wipe you, or
- are too busy to stop you because they are outmanned.
Starving supply, therefore, is something that only the more powerful servers are capable of and thus is a symptom of unbalanced matchups.
Because there are no balanced matchups, mechanics should be put in place to assist underdogs. I think this is one. Can you think of anything positive in this regard?

So having people continuously flip camps and kill yaks is only done by the most powerful of servers? I guess attacking enemy assets to force them to use existing supply as well is also something done only by the most powerful servers too.
I’ll also add that the underdog servers are out at a disadvantage as the powerful servers are now guaranteed to not have their supply chain interrupted.
