Q:
I know that usually Anet does not change the time of events to keep up with daylight savings time. However, we have not had a daylight savings time shift since NA/EU got separate reset times back in April. So I’m not sure what to expect now.
Should we expect reset time to adjust for the end of daylight savings time or will reset ignore the time change?

A:
There has been no change to the reset time. It occurs at the same time UTC as it has for the past several months. If your country/county/state/municipality/province/etc. has adjusted due to the end of daylight saving time, that is the reason for a different reset time.
If it goes like pve reset it will be an hour earlier.
If it goes like pve reset it will be an hour earlier.
That is one possibility.
On the other hand, they seem to have put a lot of thought into picking the perfect time for NA (it was in a thread somewhere months ago). So it is possible they will choose to preserve that time by updating it for DST.
I would just plan on it being an hour earlier, and if it comes at normal time, then their is no loss.
Europe it is 1 hour earlier. At least at my timezone(don’t know if it is in all of Europe) where we had changes in time 1 or 2 weeks ago.
Do you realize that not every country actually has daylight savings time shifts?
shameless bump

Correct.
So if you are in the majority and your country/state/province does acknowledge daylight savings and adjusted back an hour, all of your resets are now an hour earlier.
If you are in the minority and your country/state/province does not acknowledge daylight savings and your clocks were not adjusted, all of your resets are the same time as always.
You need to check your facts regarding majority/minority estimate

or be more specific regarding those terms.

Well I’m speaking from a gaming perspective and not the world perspective.
GW2 isn’t even playable without broadband connection, so 3rd world countries are pretty much ruled out.

2 wrongs dont make a right.
How about if Anet puts a countdown timer on the WvW page showing time until match complete? Same with the daily and monthly achievements.
Personally I liked the 8PM Central Time reset as it gave me time to eat dinner, now I need to eat early.

I would rather them just spend the time they would on changing that in the website, to adding more into the game.
Just put it in the interface.
Reset Countdown: ~2:54
I think a lot of the confusion is because server time does follow daylight savings time (at least in NA). I wish they would just schedule resets based on server time, then we wouldn’t have to deal with these one hour shifts.
Or just get the country to abolish daylight saving time because its unnecessary and costs more money. Come on ANET! You can do it! =p
