I’m pretty sure (Could be wrong?) that there was talk of removing the ability to revive DEAD people while in combat?

Anyone know anything about that?

Sure would make wvw more intresting for me, Whats the point in killing 10 guys if the other 10 are reviving them one at a time, while in combat.

Nothing annoys me more than this, It encourages zerging so much. It doesn’t matter if you die because the zerg will res you.

Force respawn at nearest WP after a 30 second timer, WvW only. Fixed and done.

I like the idea of not being able to res completely dead players while in combat.

I don’t know what to think of this idea. On one hand I like that it would force lazy people to stop waiting for a revive, but on the other hand I often will die somewhere just so I can scout it for longer. I will also call targets and help my party/guild while dead. Being dead gives you an interesting perspective, since you are no longer worried about being killed, your cooldowns, etc… you get to just watch enemy movement. I’ve helped my zerg win engagements while being dead just by communicating things to our commander that they are unable to see

Losing a fight or keep because some player died in the right spot is a pretty stupid mechanic. Dialing in an attack from the dead position is akin to accidentally glitching into a keep and porting players in IMO. It isn’t against the ToS and is currently a viable tactic but wreaks of “our team does anything to win”.

I see your point but it’s nowhere close to being the same as glitching into an objective.

They are still things that anyone could notice, anyone could call them out, you don’t NEED to be dead to do it. “There’s an arrow cart at ____ location that is hitting you guys right now” that’s not the same as “Oh hey I glitched into the lords room, here’s a portal for my army to come join me”

It would certainly help with the stupid dead mesmer at watergate tactic, although calling it a tactic is being generous.

My statement was likening it to accidental glitching and taking advantage so this response is taking that into consideration. Purposeful glitching is against the ToS and should get a player banned.

Accidental glitching/porting, through the door resurrections, dead man spying and the like are all figurative F grades in my book. One might be worse than another generally speaking but ultimately they reflect poorly on those that take advantage of these types of scenarios. These tactics should simply not be employed by players who value the respect of their opponents. If they don’t care, well then I suppose they should use every advantage they can get to “win”.
