Why is it so fast? I just played a 1v2 where everytime i downed one of them, the other would use his mesmer pull then revive his downed teammate before I could even get up. He saved his pull just so that everytime I downed his teammate he could use it. The end result was I couldn’t win at all because they would knockdown/pull the second I downed one then simply revive.

I feel it needs to be changed, just in my personal opinion. If you’re one second late for the finish their teammate is going to get revived to half HP, which imo, is absurd when it comes to smaller fights.

My own(personal) solution would simply make it so that upon revival in downed mode, you don’t start with half HP. Either that or just make the revive time slower.

Do you guys have trouble with this? Am I doing something wrong? I don’t understand…

I believe they lowered downed health to 75% in PvP. I’m not sure if that extends to WvW. If it does, then perhaps they should tweak it down just another small notch. If it doesn’t, perhaps it should.

Seems it’s all a matter of perspective, but you might be doing something wrong.

I don’t know what your class is, though it sounds like stability/aegis/invulnerability would help you here. Alternatively, pile damage where the one player is reviving the other, and now you have two downed players! If you still can’t win, well, you are fighting a 2v1.

just whack that mesmer with some spikes while he does the rezz. once the other player is up, spam some AoE and you got 2 downed players.
Alternatively, use a ranged daze/knockback/knockdown, then run in to spike again.
On the other hand, if the mezz really wants to stop you from finishing the downed player, he can do so almost certainly… But I doubt, he skilled any mantras…

The only crime, turrets committed, is being good against the celestial meta.
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.

Problem is that I’m a thief so I’ve no invulnerability/stability with almost no AoEs. I’m also using a P/D condition build so doing mass damage upon a target takes time, unlike glass cannon thieves. Stealth sometimes works but using CnD at the feet of a down player is obvious(and it was for that particular battle).

how about switching to short bow and spamming some AoE on them?`
Poison should also reduce revive speed(as it reduces all healing) and clusterkitten will hit both the downed player and the player trying to rezz.
Win-win.

Just don’t mindlessly spike anything on the ground and expect it to die. If you can’t finish, don’t finish and rather make sure they don’t get up again by spamming them good.

Alternatively, my thief(still not lev 80 tho) runs sword/pistol, so if you don’t need a sb as alt, use that instead. Pistol whip will make it impossible for a single player to rezz while dealing a ton of damage to the downed one, stopping him from self-heal.
I usually don’t even bother spiking and just go haste+whip on downed players.

I’m pretty sure you’re revived with 25% of your max health, not 50%. Certainly every time I get back up, my health is critically low and I hit my heal immediately. Also, if you down an opponent quickly after he’s revived, he’ll have fewer hp in his downed state (eventually he’ll just die instantly instead of being downed).

Thieves actually have it pretty easy. We’re hands-down the best profession for finishing people. The only class with a protective trick you can’t trivially negate is the mesmer. Everyone else will die from the very first stomp thanks to some combination of blindness, stealth, and shadowsteps.
