So I know this has been suggested numerous times, but the only way to get change is to stick with it and constantly ask for change.

For those who don’t know, WvW has many dedicated players. Although Anet may not believe it, there are many who pretty much only wvw. Sure some people will do a dungeon or some spvp in the downtime, but there are many who play wvw for 90% of their game time, and some who literally never leave.

The reason I am saying this is that for players like this, and myself, it gets expensive. Buying food, siege, armor, etc. over and over and for others gets really really expensive. And wvw is the only gamemode in the game atm where you will actually lose gold over time as you play it. Heck, just playing dungeon runner for an hour will give you more gold/loot than a weekends worth of wvw.

So because of this, I want to ask for reward tracks. There are a ton of posts about this thoughout this forums history, but lets get this idea back out front now that devs seem to be actually posting on the WvW forum.

The rewards don’t need to be great, but even just getting armor/weapon boxes like spvp or siege or mats for food or any number of things would be great.
I can see a reward track for food mats, one for siege, one for armor, and one for just general champ bags. Make each tier for x amount of captures or kills or upgrading an objective or for every point of supply spent, just anything. I know there is room for exploits so it can be tough to balance, but just about any rewards for the devotion many of us give to this game would be awesome.

Heck just let me trade my badges of honor for real loot and I will be happy. Please Anet, give us something to help counteract the cost of wvw.

And why not WvW Claim Tickets ?

I mean, since the fractal skins are becoming purchasable in a reasonable time frame, having access to hero’s misforged skins could give a nice boost in wvw activity.

I would 100% WvW if Anet made it possible.

Most of my PvE time is because Arenanet forces it on the player as a means to an end: Getting money for WvW. WvW generates so little income and so few high end drops that if you want competitive gear and expensive food, you have to PvE just to sustain that.

Most of my PvP time is a means to an end: getting rapid fights to test out a build faster than I could roaming.

PvP reward tracks aren’t as great as PvE, but they help close the gap enough that pure PvP is profitable (because gear is mostly free and no consumables). WvW reward tracks would be a great addition for players who use WvW as their primary game mode.

WARNING: It needs to be done in a way that doesn’t encourage K-Training. Incentivize fighting players and defense over taking empty keeps. Defense rewards should be by-the-minute and relevant to the number of attackers (no one wants to stick around for 3 minutes to get a defense tic, especially at the cost of letting the enemy take something different). Objective capture rewards should factor in how upgraded and how many people defended the structure.

I’m one of those people who rarely leave lol, eg: I don’t use LA mystic forge, I use SM, if we don’t own SM, I tag up and take it just to use the forge, If I can’t take it then I wait till theres a chance we can so I can forge my stuff… In my world, there is no PvE maps, 15 toons I have with 0% map completion to put things in perspective, everything I need to do is through WvW.

Having reward tracks or anything useful for our badges to be spent on would be a dream, but until then I’m going to enjoy the craziness of solo roaming EB like I have for the last 3 years, zerging is not my thing unless I’m running a new build and need to go balls deep for personal survival training to help me in the future for the many 1v3’s you face.

I mostly play for the new Free-For-All arena in PvP lobby.

I certainly do think the current system is horrifically insufficient. Go kill arctocdus in your borderland and you’ll end up with more stuff than if you went to, actually play wvw. What? Levels that drop 2 greens and some badges, titles that only enemies can see, come on! At least the titles will be more accessible.

And yea, I think a reward track would work, just not because of more shinies but because your effort would be measured more consistently as it is in other game modes; and really, I think it is something long overdue.

Yes please rewards track similar to pvp tied into Wxp level rewards. Different rewards and not just 2 greens+badges. Leveling tomes, exotics, ectos, wvw claim tickets, guild siege blue prints etc!

Hopefully if they do add in reward tracks (like they have to everything else, pvp/pve maps now), they use Raven’s suggestion of giving more xp for taking something that has been held for awhile or has a lot of upgrades. That would encourage people to focus the big objectives instead of just ktraining towers. Hopefully they can come up with some system to reward defenders, such as if you fend off an attack that gives a lot of xp, and more so if the objective has been held for awhile or is a high tier.

Could we at least hear this is on the table anet? Its a big table there has to be room

I absolutey thing WVW Rewards needs a serious redesign … 10000 ranks of crap rewards with a luckily ascended ring or item chest super rarely in between is not what i see as rewardign for Wvw, despite its own currency beign self super meaningless and unrewarding to the point, that they needed to add another currency with tournement tickets just to add some more rewarding wvw unique thigns to the game mode….

The WvW Tournament Skins should beconme a general WvW Reward Track, working exactly like the PvP Reward tracks, beign repeatable and whenver you do a successful Event in WvW or gain WExp from kills, you progress on that Reward Path unlockign this way the weapon skins of the hero and mistforged hero weapons

Rank Progression should get redesigned and made like in Pvp, that when you reach new ranks, you unlock special WvW unique Finishing Moves with also maximum only 80 ranks, and not 10000.
Then theres no need anymore with such rediculous stuff like lots of senseless repeating rank tiers for Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platin, Mithril and Diamond.

Then you simply get your rank titles based on every 5 progressive rank ups, what would be 16 Rank Titles = 16 unique WvW Finishers, whats more than enough.
by reducing the rank number from 10000 to 80, could be made retroactively the the rewards for each rank up alot more meaning fun, than just some silly blues and greens 99% of all the times, a few silver that are alot lesser, than what you get for like a stronghold win most of the times and better chances to receive actually somethign meanign for that helps you significantly on getting for your alts ascended equipment.. in gettign better access to ascended chests as rewards which are now also more rewarding, because you can now change the stats if you get something that you dont need.

Character progression could get then also reworked, so that you don’t need thousands of rank points anymore to get the WvW traits, but instead you have mostly done everythign then within those 80 ranks due to receivign more base points per rank up to unlock stuff.
Other missing rank points after reachign rnak 80 shpoudl be received then through buying Upgrade Points for your WvW Traits via Badges of Honor, so that this currency actualyl finalyl receives some better worth also for your overall progression in WvW… which is also already theoretically possible now, as you can buy instant rank ups with a bit of badges and laurels… however, I think the laurel cost should get removed and simply the badge cost should get increased and replaced partwise with Karma!!.

PvE will receive with Hot for its maps some kind of reward track per each map, so WvW should get that overhaul too to make also here again the game design consistent and congruent instead of permanently making everywhere different designed reward systems…

The reward systems if GW2 need to become more streamlined for all the game modes, so that they actually feel all the same rewarding and not that there is one mode, that feels alot more rewardign with its reward tracsk, than currently all the rest of the game with its different systems.

Personally I like the idea behind sub classes ~ quoted from Chris Whiteside
