The bonus system in place giving buffs to a server is out-dated and ill conceived because of the new match up system.

Being based on ppt and points give huge rewards to stacked servers (higher tiered) because they can dominate point-wise with more coverage and higher wvw populations.

Is this fair to a lower ranked server who is fighting harder against a higher tiered server?

Glicko points don’t mean diddly squat in motivating players in my opinion and the current system creates further imbalances in server population.

Just saying that to create a better competitive gaming environment, changes are needed to encourage the spreading of player population not the “stacking” of servers which we are seeing now.

I know this is going to come off as trollish so I’m sorry…Other then the stat buffs WvW gains for PvE there isn’t a huge amount of rewards. The stacked server can only “karma train” if the losing servers take objectives to recap. Also the matches may be fun for the weekend WvWer but for the “hardcore” WvW players these matches are not as awesome as you would guess.

A good example of this was TW from SoR. They felt there match up SoR was put into was going to be a bit lopsided so part of the guild transferred out for stiffer competition till SoR gets a different match up. Cost makes this hard for some people/guilds but its a option.

Also in game WvW wins/loss doesn’t seem to be the way to rate your server now. It has everything to do with the Glicko rating. Sticking with SoR, they got put into a match with 2 lower servers and because of this they started with a negative rating. If SoR wanted to gain rating they would have to have a complete blow out. By SoS doing much better the the system assumed SoR got -32 and SoS gained +60 which in most cases before would have had to be a win for a SoS.

With the new system, players need to reassess how they look at WvW. Plain and simple. Its no longer about the score for the week. Every week is different. Some weeks your going to need to push for a blowout. Other weeks your going to have to run havocs and grind out every camp flip and yak kill you can. Players should now be focussing on their overall rating rather than their end of week score. Adding any kind of statistical advantage would just warp the ratings and give less accurate matchups. Im completely fine with unbalanced matchups, truth be told. I just transferred to ET and im loving it because I operate best in an outmanned situation. Different weeks are going to call for different tactics from a server and I think it really tests the overall skill level and tactical diversity of a server a little better than the old system. Being matched up against a higher populated server is no big deal. You might lose the week, but you might win overall.

Let’s remove the scoreboard and be done with it.

I agree with you but there is a issue for some servers, mainly the top 3 (NA’s case BG/SoR/JQ) for us to gain rating we have to blow out the other servers. In SoR’s case they would have had to double TC’s points and quadruple? (not sure if thats correct amount) SoS’s points to break even. They might have a fun value the first day or two but a whole week isn’t going to be fun for any server involved, including SoR.

It’s funny how people think explaining the system will make some others fine with it. We play this game to fight people in game not play for raiting on a website.

Why didn’t anet just reset all servers to zero. The new system would learn a lot faster PERIOD………………….I’m with my guildy / ol lady I quoted
