So I was on my way to the BL JP and I get jumped by 2 enemy players, I managed to down one player but his friend started rezzing him… seeing as stomping takes a while I decided to DPS him but he gets rezzed quickly, this happened 2 times in a row and eventually gave up and got myself killed.

It would be nice if the game rewarded me for playing to the best of my ability, but why bother? Its horrible game design that you have to kill a player TWICE, and its even more horrible that rezzing downed people is so fast and effective compared to stomping or dps killing.

JP QQ is irrelevant to how WvW should be played. Yea it sucks when your 1v2 and one gets rezed but that’s life.

When in a 2v1, down 1, wait for the rez, and burst the other – it’s free damage. Plus, the downed guy doesn’t come back full health either. Definitely winnable.

I don’t quite get the point of the OP – everyone has downed state, and everyone takes advantage of it. It’s fair, it adds tension, and gives a tactical choice – do I stomp, or do I hit the next target?

I think it’s just fine as is.

Alright. So I take it you will tell your guildies not to res you when downed so that you may reward your enemy for his/her kill?

I love the downed state, it adds another layer to the game. And you can win 1vs2, just change your tactics. Tip: crowd control

Even without interruptions, the guy will get rezzed before I even finish the stomping animation

Killing a player ONCE involves incapping, followed by stomping/bursting down.

Alive play involves being up on your feet, then playing for survival while on the ground.

Getting back up, or rallying can be done a total of 5 times within a minute. After that there is no downed state, you’re dead.

So no, you never killed these guys. Not once. You downed a guy but never killed him. What’s holding you back from actually winning right now is your false perception that you won those fights against that guy. The fact is all you did was down him, and he beat you for the simple reason that he brought a friend along to his fight. In WvW that is a valid tactic, albiet part of the games design.
