How is roaming on the new bl maps at different levels of the game?

I’ve been on NSP for quite a while, and roaming solo or a friend has been my favorite part of WvW.

Currently, I’m seeing very few other players and, when I do see opponents, they are frequently in groups of 4 or 5.

I assume some of this is because of the HoT content and people working on their masteries/elites. Just wondering if this is the same at all levels of competition.

I totally don’t mind having some camps or towers to take. Sometimes I need a couple PVE fights to warm up. But eventually, I’m hoping to find a few somewhat evenly-matched fights with other roamers (I’m fine trying a 1 v 2 that I’ll probably lose).

Anyone have a sense of what roaming will be like when things get stable?

I’m on Darkhaven with a roaming guild and I’ve been wondering the same thing myself. It really feels like a desert wasteland. A few things that I think will improve the numbers, 1st anet just allowed gliding it would make the new BLs more accessible to most players. (they could even make micro transactions for the basic gliding for the non hot players) Also make the keeps and what not a bit weaker I get bored just siting there for 15 minuets ramming away. Also I think the new champs are pretty cool in their design I just wish they would buff players around them instead of just being insanely strong, that we it adds more of a rally around 300 the last stand kind of thing.
Well all that being said I really do hope after peeps start finishing with the hot content we start to see peeps in wvw, again.

I would actually love to roam on the new maps because they are more visually interesting than EB, but they are larger and more complex and there’s nobody there so it’s pretty boring. 1 fight every 30 min is not pleasurable.

Save yourself the pain and go to EB. More people and more tightly clustered objectives means more fights.

Right now it is pretty bad for roaming not because the design of the map (my opinion after playing it for some time), the problem is that few people are playing it.

I usually have to run around for at least 30 minutes to find someone… it is starting to get better but far from good, as you get used to the map and learn the shortcuts you start to get faster at the right places, sentries help finding enemies, buffs from shrines help a lot specially speed. I really hope it will get better if numeber of players increases.
