Who says we have to follow Anet’s scoring scheme? The API allows players some flexibility in creating our own scoring schemes. For example:

• Weigh EB PPT more/less.
• Count only EB PPT.
• Count PPT only during primetime, or only oceanic, or only EU, etc.
• Weigh PPT depending on the time (e.g. primetime worth more, nighttime worth less, or vice versa!)
• Count PPT differently: modify how much towers and keeps are worth.
• Count PPK more/less heavily (though I’m not sure the API allows for differentiation between player kills and sentry kills).
• Whatever you can come up with that the API allows!
• All of the above, put all these up on a site like mos and allow players to develop a consensus as to which one(s) they favor.

I know nothing of what can be done with GW2 overlays, but perhaps it’s possible to have overlays that replace the scoreboard with a player-rolled scoring scheme?

Disadvantage: matchups will still be determined by Anet’s scoring.

Anet’s doesn’t seem interested in fixing WvW, so perhaps players can do something to keep it alive longer than it otherwise would.
