Rubber-Banding and Skill Lag
Rubber banding + New RTL 1200 nerf means RTL is now beyond nerfed for us Ele. Pls fix RTL rubber band. If you cant fix it, then give us back the 1500 range
1. Is Anet aware of the ‘Rubber-Banding’ that has started to occur after their latest monthly patch? (where for example you fall off a cliff, don’t take any damage, run a little ways and fall flat on your face and take damage)
I’ve had a slightly different problem: I’ll run off a cliff (heading to the NW supply camp for example in our BL) and hit the ground. Get up and run for about a half of a second, then fall of the same cliff again. Get up and run for about a half a second, then fall of the cliff AGAIN. I’ve had it happen up to four times, before I can actually make it into the supply camp.
Yep, I’ve seen all of these problems as well. Would definitely appreciate an acknowledgement that Anet are aware and looking into it!

exactly this is happening to me after the latest patch
I went into the Borderland jumping puzzle last night, and the rubber-banding was happening when falling onto a small the ledge on the way to get one of the half-keys. I would fall and land fine, then when I tried to step on the ledge to resposition for a jump to the next ledge, I kept getting ported up and dropped onto the small ledge again. I was pretty much stuck there and forced to just jump from where I kept landing.
The falling damage thing has been happening for a while though. When I leave the citadel in the bl heading towards garrison, I always jump down and assume I’ll take a hit to get there faster. However, a lot of times, I fall and can run a couple seconds, then get ported back to where I fell, take damage, and get stuck on my face for a bit. I can usually slide my character along the ground while lying face-first for a few seconds b/c of the lag.
I assumed this was just b/c of my connection, and some of it may be, but its good to know that it happens to other players as well.
It happens to me to. i’ll jump down a cliff i know i can survive but then ill rubber-band and take the damage multiple times and get defeated.
In regard to question 2. As soon as we have a fight in SM, usually all 3 worlds run in, the moment you get through the outer gate you already notice what will come up, when you go through the inner gate. I hope you have a good number 1 skill on auto attack because that’s the only thing you can do. Groundtargeting is impossible and nevermind dropping a healing spring to heal your team.
The other night I dropped of the same cliff 5 or 6 times in a row until I figured out that if I drop and move into a slightly different position as I’m falling, it breaks the cycle.

rubber banding, lag spikes, cliff bug; all happening to me as well and wasn’t an issue for me until the monthly patch >.<
I think the rubber banding is cause with something that they added to the server to avoid BOT, from the start of the game the movement was on the client itself so the server didn’t check you position or atleast didn’t teleport you back, now with this new fix we rubberband because we move to fast for the server to accept it

I couldn’t play tonight the rubber banding and skill lag was so terrible; many people were commenting in map chat how unplayable it was.
I’m seeing both friendly and enemy players rubber band from the lag. Ironically LA is totally fine.
Its something wrong with the wvw servers causing rubber banding and now it seems kucks where you end up on toon select screen made reset night unplayable for me

Does anyone know if Anet has made any statements regarding this problem? Really would love to play but at this point I’m not bothering to log on until I hear if it’s being /has been worked on. I had such a horrible experience last night >.<
