I am concerned by the number of posts that I have seen on this subject, dating back to the very beginning of the game with no clear response.

Under the current rules, the only violation that is relevant to WvW is either verbal abuse, or botting. Supply and siege griefers in WvW are absolutely permitted to do as they please, under the current rules of conduct.

Rule #22 (match manipulation/leeching) would be relevant if it applied to all forms of competitive play, but as it is currently phrased, it applies only to PvP.

It seems strange to me that a rule exists for Match manipulation in PvP where matches typically last less than 10 minutes, and yet no rules of conduct exist for griefing, trolling, or sabotage in WvW.

My server, (and many others, from the other threads I have read) is dealing with a few griefers that I feel almost powerless to stop, that are doing everything from whispering people to not follow commanders, draining supply from a keep during an attack, siege capping a keep with flame rams, and destroying golems by cliffjumping. Some people on my server think it is deliberate sabotage by a person from a different server, but I doubt it. Some people just like to watch the world burn. The server community as a whole is healthy, working together in WvW. I am continually impressed by the amount of organization and teamwork in the top-tier servers,

Where is arenanet’s contribution to the development of healthy communities and fair competitive play?

+1. Don’t forget about troll claims on objectives to prevent buffs from being activated.

I have not seen any recognized guilds on my server do this, but I am sure it must exist.

A “Traitor” system maybe? Players have a limit of 3 “accuse of treason” points per week, can’t use all 3 on one player. Get tagged with enough treason points and you get a timed debuff that you must work off (killing enemies? Events? And 15 min CD on map hop?) but if you don’t, it escalates until it makes you open to attacks from everyone and you respawn at various random edges of the map. At the final stage you are indicated on the map (like Aion). Pipe dreams!

Whispers with meat.

All thay does is offer a set of rules to allow organized trolling for a group, guild, or clique.

To keep on point, and bump the thread at the same time:

this is not about making a new disciplinary system, the one that we have is essentially the same as any other MMO, the community polices itself via the report option, and then the company reviews reports and gives rulings. If they are lenient, it is their prerogative to be so.

The issue I am trying to highlight is that reports are supposed to be for breaches of the rules of conduct, and there is no rule that applies directly to the kinds of griefing and sabotage that takes place in WvW.

While I believe that Arenanet does not condone subversive actions in WvW, the rules of conduct do not give us the tools that we need as players to report those actions.

maybe there is no rule of conduct…!

Right now, there is not one.

I am a little afraid of what that means. It could mean that ArenaNet thinks of that kind of gameplay as legitimate player conduct. More likely, it probably means that nobody at Arenanet wants to deal with the avalanche of reports that would come if they made it explicitly against the rules of conduct.
