Rules of the Arena
Just use standard unwritten fight club rules and we should be good.
Yes we were using the upper hallway above the arena to do 1v1s tonight. Was fun.
Fight club rules there.
I like how this guy has taken it upon himself to tell everyone how they must play in a pvp area lol. While i agree that there needs to be some guidelines for the arena, there always has to be that guy out there to stamp his name to the “rules of engagement”. that way when someone jumps him in the hallway he can come on here and complain about it and link his post

All your listed ideas so far look good to me.

Lol. Gank squads that ruled the puzzle during its heyday are going to have a field day with all of the gvg heroes and “duel me” bros.
As was stated, fight club etiquette should suffice, but trolls are going to troll, unofficial rules be kitten ed.

I would give you the rules to fight club but the first rule of fight club is ………….
Rule #1: There are no rules
Maguuma/BG/SOS broke all these rules today.

I doubt there are any rules, FA been having a field day today killing any and all who enter the arena. There is also about 15 at spawn too.
My fault though for thinking it was gonna be a sort of place like the windmill.
….. And Elementalist.

Implying those gank squads is something serious. Any worthwhile gvg guild can wipe em out in one charge.

I’m really excited for the potential of this area. It has proven to be a troll-fest so far- but that’s to be expected with it being out for only a day. I’d still like to have a troll-proof alternative, but there is some fun to be had in working around the problem.
Some ideas that were floated around is to have bouncers holding the choke point that is the arena entrance during gvg’s. It’s a nice long narrow hallway and it should not be too hard to prevent a few known idiots from crossing. These guys would have to identified and stomped and not allowed to return. If the gvg coordinators can start a fake first round and just focus on killing these troll-adds before getting started for real it could be a quick thing to do and get warmed up at the same time. If you hold off on burning long cool downs it could add very little time.
Each server could create a guild called “Server X spectator.” Everyone has to rep while watching and all are invited to join, but once you are kicked for interfering, you can’t rep anymore and are subject to getting stomped for it.
We could go a step further and make a guild dedicated to being the bouncers, so other servers know who to party up with and call targets on troublemakers. A police force? I might have been on TC too long since this is getting into role-play territory
The arena middle area is HUGE. Big enough so that low HP person can reset and still be in the flat circle area. What do people think should be considered “out of bounds”? I mean like, if there were no out of bounds area we’re looking at the old, south GvG area + pretty much the entire spider forest in terms of size.

And it was really fun. Dont take this too serious or you may miss out on that.

I see a few guilds in those pics that GvG. So, I am not sure what they are trying to accomplish if they are trolling.
Really like this arena. Can not wait to GvG there.
I like the “Rules of Engagement”. If someone breaks them, it gives us a reason to focus down on the troll to stop.
I really think the JP should be detached from WvW and have an entry/exit from LA. There would be a requirement for overflows. Maybe even a 20 vote requirement to create a new one so GvG’s can create there own instance on demand. For solo’s, upon entering the JP there could be a popup question that ask’s “Combatant or Non Combatant” Non Combatants would be friendly to all and immune to any attacks. This way we know who’s there to fight and who’s there to jump or spectate. The only people who could or would complain are those whom are abusive troll’s. Yet, even then, they can go in and troll each other as solo combatants. To me it would be the best compromise for everyone in the game.
In the meantime, I do like these rules. GJ OP!
I’ve always been told JP are a part of WvW-battlegrounds and no rules exist.
A GvG area in a JP doesn’t really change anything.
The rules should be made between the 2 or 3 opponents for the fight.
And what is the reason behind Rule1 anyway?
Just use standard unwritten fight club rules and we should be good.
We don’t talk about fight club.
kitten it! Now you made me do it too! No more talking about this group of rough-housing friends. <wink>
Guy made it clear last night he wanted to duel, he bowed then attacked me before I could even bow back. I beat him and spiked. He then invited me and got angry that I spiked him.
Was it within my right to spike someone who initiated a fight before I had accepted it? I thought so.

no not really. you should have just trolled him a bit while he was trying to heal up.
stomping wasnt needed.
Too bad this game is full of …. not so smart people and kids, aka casuals.
The rules are supposed to be almost sent as mail because there are so many people who don’t get the purpose of this arena so they just zerg and hit everyone around him.
If you want rules, you’ll have to make them with whoever is in there. Do not expect anyone to follow anything you make up in these forums. As not many people will come here and read them.
I guess they could let people talk to each other in there regardless of world…
Wait… can you? I didn’t even try.
But you can always have “ambassadors” from each side getting into the sameparty and talking through party chat.
i never interrupt duel or gvg but u don’t have right to order other people too . . .
beside that ….. this map is actually good for find someone to gank if the match is blew out lol

Yeah typically with duels, you don’t stomp. Just down.
Good list. I’ll have fun breaking these rules lulz
