Run wars 2 and stare wars 2 need to go
That was what wvw was designed for… sadly..

Nope it was designed for others things, but due to lack of rewards for defending and upkeep of towers, it became a ring a round the tower capture run.
But players like to play together, and so slowly we went from small groups, to guild groups to zergs.
And of course the devs followed the zergs, and so what little attention WvW did get, it was to make the zergs zergier.
WvW could have been so much more, but thanks to the lack of everything to the game mode, it’s slowly dying off. The only thing keeping it going is people transferring to higher servers and the linking which does the same but for zero cost to the players on the lower servers.
Give it another year or two and WvW will be Megaserver WvW, i.e. EOTM
But i dont see Anet take the game in that direction so it must be what they have planed rigth?
Besides they have been make the game more easy to be played with ktrains, where people dont even need to be in a towar, and we all know what kind of openfield fights its nowadays.
If they reverted stability and reverted the condi changes for wvw only, it would become like this again. But that would be the intelligent and easy thing to do to fix wvw, so Anet won’t do it. Instead we’ll get a golem rush or some new type of siege or something like that.

2 things ruin GW2 and WvW and are completely the fault of the balance team:
1- Over-cheesiness : Skill matters less than the cheesy build you are running. Having an unique build is a disadvantage instead of an advantage, even if you are an amazing player that can master your own build.
Causes: Power creeps, Condi creep, Boon creep, CC creep, terrible skill balance in regards to recharge time, casting time and armor type. Even heavy classes now do more damage than light classes. Why have a light class cast a meteor shower that barely does anything anymore unless enemies stand still when a heavy class can do 20k+ damage on a 3 second cooldown without such an horrendous casting time?
Abandoning the idea of having no trinity system was also a disaster.
2- Blob wins over skill: It doesn’t matter if you are the best player in the world, a group of 20 elites can no longer beat a group of 40 pugs pressing 1 repeatedly.
Causes: Balance changes and everything included in point number one.

The Meta nowadays is pretty stale, at least you see staff eles in larger numbers, not in Raiding/GvG guilds. No wonder so many Guilds got bored, quit and won’t come back.
Plays completely opposite professions to his main Teef.

The condition changes (as in to stacking and changed coefficients) were fine what they needed to do was keep an eye out for skills that were performing hilariously bad and skills that were over performing. A slight adjustment to burns to make them all last a little longer but do a little less up front would have made conditions fine. Except confusion, that should have been left as only on skill use.
Stability was grossly overpowered and needed to be changed, thing is they changed every single CC skill in the game to 10 people max. Then they did the sensible change to stab which they should have done in the first place. So what are we left with? Have 20 people with a good amount of stab and they render all CC useless as they charge ahead triggering the 10 target cap of skills but not losing stab due to the 0.75s immunity window.
Changing CC back to no target cap would allow smaller organised groups to combat a map blob of pugs as the group would be effectively cut in half by those with stab and the numptys at the back with no stab. This allows them to pounce on the weaker half of the group, clean them up and get any rallies needed before having to deal with the brainless 111 guards in the front.
apharma.3741, all these 4 years playing this game, i always felt that Anet love skill overperfomancing, and only change if theres alot of uproar, since while players play with those skill and be a bit carried they dont play other game (and that is what gw2 is mostly, find what is over performing to grind/garm titles and shinies).
Classes are desdigned for pve only, they are ment to have over perform in some skills.
