Hey thar, lets keep this thread mature and about scores and conquests and defeats and not about orb hacking, exploits and so on.

I understand that we are all frustrated with this weeks matchup, but just so we at least even have a thread to look at about our matchup, lets keep it that way. Please and thank you.

The sad truth is people are claiming that all of Blackgate are hacking and that’s the reason they’re winning, or using cheap tactics that all 3 servers are using.

Commander Shokusha and I helped do this. Great job Blackgate in JQ borderlands. Sure, JQ took it back, but they needed their entire server in one zerg, and they needed to go get assistance from other borderlands… which we’re now taking over

Exploiting the stacking limit is certainly not insignificant. A large part of our guild and the largest US based alliance on SBI were disgusted with it and chose to do other things this weekend, since it frankly isn’t fun gameplay.

There are counters to it and some have already been used by JQ this last weekend. In fact, up until I logged off yesterday evening, JQ was very close to BG and gaining on it in total points, but when I logged on moments ago to check TP, it seems our nightcappers took control of most of it now. That’s not fun, I had hoped for a close match and heavy fighting all the way to friday

15 minutes ago SBI had a total of 6 players in EB, we coulnt even take QL.
Seems WvW is only fun in the weekends then night shifts decide who wins the midweek battles.

People flock to 1 server who dominates like chickens then leave it if kitten hits the fan.

So BG is BandwagonGate, JQ is JQQ, what is SBI?

Im glad BlackGate is marked full since tier 3 and all the casual players that transfer in the past because their server losed are now stuck at JQ and SBI making them also full.

That’s because They were flipped. I saw that SBI took a keep with an orb, well 2 keeps. How is that an exploit or bug?

Actually 2-3 weeks ago one of our players hacked the orb from Henge if i remember correctly. Around 10 people i know of reported the player instantly …… needless to say he has not been seen since. SBI tries to play with intergity and fair play. If that means reporting our own then so be it.

BG on the other hand cannot do anything without using these hacks. Pity as like i said there have been some pretty good fights.

You would think with all these negative posts that WvW would be pretty dead right now and Blackgate is running away with it. As of right now:

In my opinion, the whole point of Tier 1 is that you can log in at anytime and get a decent battle, so I thank everyone who is still participating in this match up because aside from a few hours during the day when Blackgate dominates, this is still an all around even matchup.

When you take a keep you don’t get the orb, you need to destroy the altar and carry it elsewhere (or wait until your altar spawns). There are also visual bugs. There have been many times when it says we have 2 orbs when we actually have 3, or have it say no orbs when we have 2. What matters is if we’re getting the actual benefit, in which we’re not.

This has been happening for 2 months now… since the games launch. I don’t get how SBI and JQ got to T1 when they’re full of new people that never knew this

It’s not just a matter of who gets the benefit of the orb. It’s the hacking of it that causes the utter demoralization of the victimized server. Hacking it once has become commonplace during a match, but when it happens several times people just don’t want to deal with it anymore.

It’s always easier for a server that isn’t on the receiving end to say “pull yourselves up from your boostraps and fight on!”. And honestly it’s not just the hacking. It’s a lot of things that add up on top of it. Server lag when you fight in SM, culling issues, broken mechanics with turtling. Multiple hacks can be the straw on the camel’s back for a lot of people who are tired of dealing with the BS.

I don’t get it Stormbluff. We at JQ at least try to put up a fight. If you all really hate Blackgate so much, then come on wvw and take them down. The week is still young enough.

We been stuck fighting Blackgate on an uphill battle. Your just giving up you T1 spot for a server that just got in T1? I’m a little surprised. I had assumed you just wasn’t fighting Blackgate. At this point, just go in and fight BG while the week is still salvageable for you.

Yeah I will give props to JQ, they at least keep fighting, Keep on fighting JQ and show everyone what a T1 server is really like. SBCry on the otherhand just want to sit on the forums and blame a hacker BG can’t control and tactics they can’t adapt to. It’s not even like BG has the 3 orb buff all day so there is a major stat gap or that stacking doesn’t have counter-tactics.

It’s amazing, so much crying about BG hacking, while the people weren’t even there or don’t know what the heck they are talking about in the 1st place.

Most of your so called “hacks” were all bugs not triggered on purpose and are 100% to blame on ArenaNet leaving so many of them in W3.

Let me give an example, we were fighting in JQ BL for a long time when suddenly our orb altar in hills broke.
Okay, we look at the map, assume that Quaggans did it, and take the orb to Bay altar instead.
The orb makes it safe to there, is placed on the altar and everything looks fine.
Then suddenly the altar explodes and the orb is dropped again, the strange thing the altar was still full health.
We could place the orb back on it, which we did.
Then SBI and JQ double team Bay, we hold off JQ at inner, while SBI gets in before JQ and takes Bay.
They defend their Bay and kill all the JQ, never touching the Altar, which at that point is still BGs.
In fact SBI never did anything to the altar/orb and that’s how we were having the orb buff during that time.
Then we took the Bay back again and heck I don’t know how it looked at that point but I guess the orb bugged out to show on map at all, but it actually never ever been moved from bay anymore.

Now how’s this example in any way the fault of BG?
We place orb on altar, loose keep, enemy never touches orb, orb bugs out on map at some point, we take back keep, orb never ever moved/changed hands.

Let me give another example where BG gets accused of hacking.
When orb carrier gets killed and another one takes the orb, the orb disappears on map.
How’s this BGs fault?
We try to run orb 1 dies, other picks it up.
Are we supposed to leave it there on the floor?
Once again ArenaNet and bugs.

Another example, SBI altar in BG BL breaks from quaggan lightning.
Orb timer runs out, so it resets in the north of BG.
BG gets accused of hacking…

You guys especially from SBI, accuse anything you see of hacking.
You guys are so paranoid that you see hacks in everything when you loose.

I guess you’r not used to loose this often, I understand.
But guess what, you’r loosing legit, and your brain is just not comprehending it.

I think we should have a thread just for SBI-JQ score, and leave BG out of it, so that the thread doesn’t get locked. Also, don’t care about them anymore.

JQ you guys haven’t been hit by BGs exploits like SBI has (not yet at least). Also it seemed that most of the weekend you guys mostly focused SBI, to the point that you guys were pretty much ignoring each other when you were next to each other. It’s easy to maintain a decent score when both opponents are focused on one.

This is a good example of why I think matches should be 1v1 instead.

Pretty much all of Friday and Saturday was JQ and BG only focusing SBI. The focus seems to have changed now since SBI has dropped back and lost a lot of people playing for the week.

You guys weren’t stomping anyone for the first 12 hours or so. When one side stops playing it’s easy to focus them for points. As much hatred as SBI and JQ have had towards each other over the past weeks, I would rather see them win than BG.

I have been on Blackgate since day 1 and we have come a long way. I understand that we have alot of transfers, but how do we control the amount of people transfer into our server. We win because we work together in chat and have outstanding leadership. My guild (Urge) has put countless hours and seige down in order to achieve victory. I do have to admit War machine from SBI is a strong force, they win alot of battles, but persistance wins wars. We have pride and continue to fight. I want a fair fight from all servers or it’s truly not fun. These “exploits” such as portal bombing and turtling are part of the game intended or not, It is up to Anet to fix these. As far as I know there are no hackers in Blackgate in WvW

You demoralized SBI guys should realize that there hasn’t been an orb incident from Blackgate in many weeks. I highly suspect that it is being done by some jerk intentionally trying to hurt the reputation of BG, and has nothing to do with wanting to win the match.

You aren’t fighting JQ. You are fighting the few hardcore WvW guilds too stubborn to let the map get 100% red.

Every map on JQ is instant queue, and several have Outmanned. I don’t know how long BG has been high or full population, but this is the first time it’s happened on JQ since the game launched. It is hard to explain how bizarre this situation is to others who are used to WvW queues under 1 hour.

And yet BG still needs to exploit and use the turtle crap to keep the score roughly even.

Here on JQ, we hated SBI during the HoD/SBI/JQ matchups because they refused to fight HoD, and several times they had cross-server guilds which teamed up with HoD to defend a keep. The one uniting sentiment across all JQ guilds is that we hate settling for second; fight for first or don’t bother fighting—and SBI was clearly aiming at second for several weeks.

But SBI put up serious fights over the last few weeks, and we respect them now. An even fight with them is now a challenge, instead of an automatic win like a few months ago. I can’t blame them for standing down this week, and I won’t lose respect for them, because this WvW matchup is absurd.

Friday night SBI was winning even with both JQ and BG trying their best to stomp us down. I don’t know what kool-aid you’re drinking.

We’ve already proven that we can smack down JQ. We took a few days off for halloween last week and made up a 20k deficit in a single day to beat you guys. In case you can’t tell, there are very few people still participating in the match this week (just a few hardcore guilds), so if beating a seriously outmanned squad gives you your kicks then more power to you. It hardly represents the true power of SBI though.

I think a lot of us at SBI are too busy having fun with the Halloween events to really give a kitten about this weeks matchup :-)

That being said, never complain about tactics. Use the system however it can be used and let ANet fix those things which are not working properly. Hacking and cheating are another thing altogether but I see the use of what ANet provides to be completely legitimate.

So let’s end all this talk of turtling, shadow refuge, and Mesmer portals, ok? If everyone can do it, there’s nothing wrong with those who choose to do so.

Sorry blackgate, but enjoy the one sided WvW. You’ve brought it upon yourself with your tactics and trash talking. Most JQ and SBI seems to be sitting this one out.

Personally I’ll be out there when I can, but let’s be honest here, you’re not going to get a strong battle for T1 this week for two reasons: 1.) Halloween event is taking away non-hardcore players from WvW 2.) Orb deal Friday night.

OTOH if you’re on Blackgate and feel this is unfair and that you deserve a stronger battle, maybe you should consider who your peers are…

+1. The battle started off great but the minute we lost the orb “mysteriously” on Friday night/ Saturday morning (hint: people saw the player who flew in and took it), it was over. A lot of us played ALL weekend (I played at least 12 hours a day, all in WvW), but the tempo slowly changed to what it is now. People just stopped showing up knowing epic battles could turn meaningless due to creative tactical mechanics and outright orb hacking.

In the future remember, this isn’t a “real” war, we can just pick up our kitten and go home. If you want an entire population to feel compelled to play a game with you, you need to understand that this isn’t “face pwning” and “lol I owned joo”, it’s a game, pure and simple, and people play it to have fun.

Quoted for truth. Last week’s matchup was the best fight in WvW I’ve seen. It’s good to see some players acknowledging the issue. I’d say wait for Arena Net to fix it, but they haven’t even publicly responded to the issue.

I would love to see the showdown myself… i bet all the money i have and will have to these guys any given day… They just gave a FLAT out challenge to any of the BG disclaiming any sort of hack on your side… let me repeat, doing 5+ FLY hack orbs in less than 72 hours is one thing, YOUR Server denying it ever happened is another… im just glad that there are other people in BG owning up to this issue, to you guys i give mad props and to those who are in denial, cant really figure out how you guys do it

To think that the thousands of different players who participate in WvWvW on Blackgate are all in cahoots together on some nefarious plot to hack and cheat is pretty much nutty conspiracy theory type thinking.

If you played on BG you would see that the same type of arguing, zerg mentality and moments of total lack of coordination take place. BG does have a strong guild alliance that coordinates their efforts but this accounts for only a small fraction of the people zoned in to WvW at a given time.

I was with the team all last night when we took JQ BL over. There was 10 of us working together and herding cats to whole time to keep the rest of the players even slightly focused on task. No hacking, no turtling, no portal bombing, just playing and having fun.

You usually can’t get most people to not stand under the boiling oil, you think you can really get 20-30 other random ppl to stack up on command? We had a mez creating portals to speed up supply runs to a tower and despite spamming chat and says people still ran by it and took the long way.

You give too much credit to think that people could pull off a massive and complicated plot across enough random players to think it would make a significant difference in the outcome of a week long battle.

Case in point: I have a friend on Yak’s Bend. They won their 1st week long match in a blow-out and posts went up in the forums accusing the entire server of sand-bagging the 24 HR matches in order to purposely get a low seed and dominate.

It was ironic since my friend had been complaining for a week about the total lack of coordination and how most night’s were dominated by the different commanders on the maps calling each other kitten for hours.

But most the hacking accusations on here are nothing more than misunderstandings of bugs. If you weren’t there first hand, don’t jump in on the hate bandwagon. Let those with evidence and Anet sort this out.

I was in that BL last night for about an hour, there were literally 10 SBI total on that map… it was brutal. I was roaming around looking for 1v1 fights even if I had to fight your guards as well.

It’s too bad people have such a bad taste in their mouths from the weekend. Add that to the Halloween Event and I’m hoping next week is a better matchup.

We had eyewitness accounts of seeing people flyhack. You expect us to keep someone at the orb waiting to fraps it at all times? Also, how are we suppose to report players when we can’t even see their names?

And yeah WvW is dead. The score would be much closer if everyone were actually playing. We went through all of Saturday with no queue (not even in primetime on SBI). I can’t remember that ever happening.

You can place the exact time, location, and description of the cheating and toon(s) participating in your report. You cant see name, yes, but you can see race, server, guild, class specific buffs, armor type etc.

Anet can take this info (even just a few pieces) and easily determine if it was cheating and who was cheating. And yes, if its that big a deal (which it is) catch the guy. You can get a number of people to take shifts, its not impossibly difficult.

Last 2+ weeks SBI and JQ members have publicly shared their respect for the challenge the other team has brought with of course our random idiots/trolls mixed in on both sides, but we have mutually given respect as competitors IMO.

I can’t seem to find many non “QQ babies we can play how we like, deal with it cuz your in last place, suck it”, replies from the new kid. Granted I’m assuming these are mostly the players BG majority wishes would go away idk, but I’m not feeling that same we are respected competitors atmosphere that even SBI/JQ has seemed to grow into even with their mutual historic distaste. Maybe it’s a “new money” kind of thing. I hope sophomore year goes better.

Our guild has always had a general attitude of “present yourself as a respectable opponent”. Although we are merely a shadow of what we were in Warhammer, I still believe that to be true. If our members talked trash in general chat or on publicly available forums, they were reprimanded.

Our old guild leader always had a saying for those that wanted to just squabble and talk smack, “Let cooler heads prevail”.

I guess the point is if BG wants to see this diminish, have the people who represent your community best (BG forum leaders, TS owner, major guild/alliance leaders) come out and say “This is our stance”, and discuss that. For example if War Machine or Hope came on and said “this is how we feel about X” I’d be pretty comfortable in saying you’re talking to our major players as they’re the ones currently running the show (and busting their butts in doing so). Sorry if I left anyone out of that statement, fwiw.

You don’t represent the whole of the server, but you can represent the majority of the force in BG.

Right now the only people talking are the ones who provide the lowest amount of sense and dignity over the matter.

If someone honestly believe an orb gives a team points, they are sadly mistaken. A team could have all 3 orbs and still be losing. The stat bonus is not so insane that it is game breaking, one. And two, Blackgate got their points by capturing keeps, towers, supply camps, and Stonemist. We were in the lead from the very first tick. We created a 5k point lead by the end of the first 12 hours of play. Look at the score total lines. Irrefutable fact that BG was in the lead the entire game, despite the trollish antics of certain individuals to be banned later.

But kitten me for using logic, right?! Go on and flame me. There is nothing more our server can do about the situation and the more that these individuals throw accusations about “tainted” victories, the more they show their ignorance.

SBI and JQ are losing because they have been beaten and demoralized. Show me some resiliency and meet me on the field. I have a max height human female warrior with short platinum hair, HotW shoulders and boots, no helm, and Draconic Gloves, Chest, Legs. My guild tag is [KnT], my in-game name is Riven The Valorous, I have a commander tag so you can’t possibly mistake me. Come find me and I and the rest of [KnT] will give you your war. I’m waiting.

Well, I don’t know about other players who generally spend most of their time in WvW but I’m far from demoralized. I’m just having a blast with the Halloween event! In fact, most of my guild seems more interested in the event than WvW at this time and we usually have about 50 people in WvW on weekend evenings and nights with a pretty constant presence throughout the week, both day and night.

So it’s fine, Esoteric. SBI’s been back down to T2 before and there is no question in our minds of how that will go (if it even happens). The event ends Wed. night so I doubt we will have time enough to make up the difference in scores at that point but you never know. I’ll sure as hell be in there on Thursday night for the first time all week.

Whatever the case, I’m definitely sorry for not giving you guys a more enthused SBI. We definitely have it in us but many of us are not exclusive to WvW. PvE is also something I thoroughly enjoy, as does the rest of my guild, and Halloween won’t be here next week so we are taking part while the taking’s good..

I guess what I’m really trying to say here is: This isn’t even our final form ;-P

You’ll see why we are a competitive T1 server soon enough. Don’t you worry.
