Other than us not putting up a fight in resent weeks are we done as wvw server? looking at the ranks we will kiss tier 1 goodbye in few weeks here. seems like people stooped doing wvw on our server. it bugs we worked hard to get to tier 1 and i kind of want to stay there

I think moving down 1 tier wont be the end, it will depend on how well you do against us in T2 before you should be considering calling it a quits really. If worse comes to worse you guys could always jump to us in SoR and help us aim for T1 :p

what is dead to you? Seeing a post on how a server is not competitive in T1 and will fall to T2 (were you guys will more than likely be competitive), to me is like seeing a billionaire commit suicide because his bank account now says 999 million and he cant stand being poor.

Our numbers have fallen drastically. We don’t have enough people to cover more than 1 map. People are getting pretty demoralized too. We already have problems with the number of people that we will probably fall a tier and then we have people stealing and killing our golems, and draining supply from our Keeps. AS IF they needed to do that lol.

JQ needs alot of NA players. It’s not like you don’t know us well after 3 months? If SBI had name tags, I would have probably hung out more with some of you than my own guildies =)

Okay lets stop with the server recruiting, to answer your question moving from T1 to T2 will actually is a scary period, either you can continue to fall (HoD) or you can settle in tier 2 for a while re-build your forces and have another crack at tier 1 (BG) just stay positive and focus on winning tier 2 and trust me it will feel like a much needed break compared to the constant onslaught of t1.

If you like the biggest mass combat or the most target rich environment (playing against SoS you’ll have both) T1 is the best place to be. Plus, who doesn’t like killing Roosters, especially ones on teams, in depressive oceans?!

OP, do not worry about coming to T2. I play on SoR and have been really enjoying fighting against TC, they are usually fun fights and the players are respectful. If you guys are suffering from Oceanic coverage, it sounds like the servers may have more equal numbers. Hopefully this will promote a more balanced matchup, with a lot of fun fights. Try to maintain a positive attitude, even though you guys are moving down a tier, you may end up having more fun.

If you’re also lacking in Oceanic coverage, you will love Tier 2! SoR and TC are perfect matches for you.

Coming to Tier 2 isn’t the end for SBI.

In fact some of us in Tier 2, left tier 1 back when TA was on HoD. The fights here in tier 2 aren’t anything to just shrug off, as if they are nothing. I don’t think SBI will die, though I have heard some guilds are scouting other servers right now, though they are on the fence about even leaving SBI due to the community SBI has.

The best thing to do is use the SBI forums, and have everyone talk. If demoralized boost moral about a tier 2 fight. Heck who knows, yall might just win it, in that would be a boost overall. Not to mention it’d be something a bit different then JQ/SOS to fight.

You have some great people over there like Dissac, Jedbacca, and many more who I doubt would just let all of the hard work SBI has done since day 1 go to hell.

Chin up a bit, look at tier 2 as an opportunity, not as something bad.

Losing for a few weeks and whining about it makes a person in my book a fairweather friend.

SoR and TC can provide you great fight as well especially in NA, if u asked me. TC has a slight edge over SoR in term of Oceanic coverage but SoR has pretty stronger NA.

However your fight still not over until friday! Keep on fighting!

That would require Dolyaks taking more than 3 steps, which is as about as far as they get in T1.

All kidding aside, it’s not that different than T2, just more round the clock action with less room to take breathers.

I think the fact is SBI just does not have the numbers anymore to compete. We hold our own on the map we are on, but that is a single map.

I, however, welcome a change in tiers. If people want to leave SBI, in order to “remain competitive,” I say good riddance. If SBI needs to be tier 1 to keep specific people, then those people are people I would rather not have on the server. Even if SBI falls all the way to T8, I will be fine. It only makes the climb more glorious. xD

Whether SBI is dead or not, I cannot fully say. What I can say is that it isn’t the same server it used to be. In the recent weeks I have watched many good players/guilds suddenly disappear and leave people I’ve never seen before in their wake.

I have seen us go from partaking in some very well orchestrated tactics to two-days-after release where people take supplies from keep and don’t defend what we own.

I think many people have jumped ship at this point. The people we do have just tend to follow random blue tag to camps and beat on doors they really shouldn’t be beating on.

T2 is pretty much already a done deal. We are just waiting on the paperwork, at this point. I hope that we can regroup then.

Every server in this game has been getting hit in WvW numbers. People quitting GW2 people quitting WvW participation. Attrition is hitting all servers not just SBI. However people are over reacting due to War Machine taking our Oceanic presence away and while that will severely damage our score at the end of the week it does not at all effect the other time slots that we have been kicking the kitten of since this game came out.

I firmly believe that going into Tier 2 for a week or two will do wonders for SBI as a whole. Getting to fight 2 new servers we have NEVER faced before is going to be great! New guilds to fight new zergs to steamroll over and new players to stomp. It has been a very long time since I have seen something other than Jade Quarry, Sea of Sorrows, or Blackgate Invader/Defender. It will be a very well needed breath of fresh air.

To everyone else on SBI, GET OUT THERE AND FIGHT. This may be the last week for a little while that we get to do dirty things to SoS and JQ. And when the match ends this week and we do end up green in Tier 2 it will be time to prove ourselves as still relevant in the grand scheme of WvW, no mercy and no taking it easy. I plan on going 110% all week first week of Tier 2!

If you’re interested in hardcore PvDoor I recommend you the mighty BG to transfer into.

I cannot say that SBI is dead. We just lack coverage. Loosing WM hurt us but we still have SF and a few other guilds that I for one think are great. How we fair in T2 is unknown but I do not think we will fall as far as T8 before we settle out.

With the way I have seen SBI be outnumbered 3 to 1 and still hold and psuh back is what makes us unique. This will be what makes us. I have noticed a lot of new players in WvW not doing what commanders say and attacking stuff they should not be giving our location away. Moving to a lower tier to tech and learn will be good for us, let take advantage of it and rebuild only to come back stronger than we were before.

I think WVW has grown stale for a lot of people due to no real attention, unrestricted server transfers killing server pride, overly favouring zerg gameplay (stupid low AOE cap, infinite rapid downed state rezzing), no progression/rewards.

FOTM grind clearly also sucked a lot of people away chasing a gear advantage.

Yeah I’m not sure which game they are playing now but they aren’t a powerhouse guild like they were before (in terms of the sheer numbers they could field a month ago before they came here).

To the OP, don’t be discouraged if you drop to our tier! As it’s been said multiple times now, we here at the Toast as well as SoR are light on Oceanic coverage so I bet it would be a fun matchup!

Lower participation does not equal the death of a server, nor does the loss of EU/Oceanic coverage. All it mean is that you drop into a tier that has the same type of coverage as yourselves. This is good, you will be on a more even playing field, the fights will be more enjoyable, and best of all you’ll be able to get more sleep.

Whats happening is good for both T1/T2’s overall health. Servers which have solid 24 hour coverage will be in T1, and those in T2 will have equalish coverage aswell, better fights for both tiers and more fun to be had, SBI will see a nice resurgance in T2, and we’ll be happy to have you.

Ye i think we need to recruit few more guilds to come down, we have good NA presence but our EU and Oceanic is none excited from what i saw last night. JQ puts up a huge lead over SoS and SBI over night.

This is the situation I think it’s comes to coverage numbers. I derived this from our PPT over 48 hours

JQ: Average NA, Average Oceanic, Average EU
SOS: Many NA, Average Oceanic, Little EU
SBI: Many NA, Little Oceanic, Little EU

Disclaimer: This has nothing to do with skill, its all about who gets to PvDoor the most.

As guild leaders, I think we all need to think about our situation and make the right moves. The WvW scene is failing, yes apparently there is a patch coming but it will not solve our problem and that is “our efforts are all in vain if the enemy has even one EU guild to wipe all our upgrades and advancements within 1 hour and hold it for the next 5 hours.”

Personally, I believe only by consolidation into a single server can we hold enough numbers to continue to be competitive yet not force our members to play an obscene amount of hours to stay competitive. They will simply quit the game due to stress, there are so many options out there. Let’s not kid ourselves, it has happened.

You say the game is stale, culling blah blah blah. I don’t think that is the reason people are quitting WvW.

Optimal situation:
Players play WvW for 2 hours a day, can log off without losing everything. Decide to play even longer because its fun.

Current Sitaution
Players play WvW for 8 hours a day, cannot log off due to peer pressure. If log off, lose everything. Decide to quit to not put up with it.

Once these NA guilds turned up SoS became more competitive due to having coverage most of the day/night. That turned us into a T1 server. We lack EU guilds but so does nearly every NA server (EU guilds play on the EU servers).

Threads like this are absolutely garbage and just annoy me. SBI is far from dead. It is rather in a state of transition. In regards to War Machine I personally do not miss them. They made their choice, its done so move on. But SBI has plenty of fight.

Why are people recruiting for their server in a discussion of struggles for SBI?

Each of you that recruited put a black mark on your server. I would never go to a place that has no sense of decency.

As for SBI, look at the score. It’s not just you, it’s JQ too. You might have a better score if JQ didn’t take a week off. And JQ won the match as recently as last week.

Don’t just give up, have fun, play for the heck of it. And if you drop down to t2 you might actually enjoy it because it may be a closer matchup than you are used to. IoJ came down to T3 and the matchups are very healthy with top server not having a huge advantage basically ever.
Just an example of how dropping down can be good for your competitive spirit. It’s much more fun to be in a close fight than to zerg everything down.

Since when have NA servers been about US primetime? I know it sounds weird but in reality it’s all about around the clock coverage. Fact of the matter is you guys get to PvDooring a lot as well during the NA primetime. Most of the people online during the NA primetime are in fact PST players, who log in at around 9pm EST when “you guys go to bed”. Not to mention we also keep our PPT lead a lot during your NA primetime.

Doesn’t NA Primetime, infact cover several time zones? PST, CST, EST and AST all fit within NA primetime, and very little PVDoor happens here. AST start’s the Primetime, followed by the EST folks, followed by the CST, and once again followed by the PST guys. It ends when PST numbers dwindle.

Our Coverage lacks when PST is asleep. This is usually when Oceanics, Asia, and Europe would fill in the gap, and many North American Servers do infact lack this coverage. This is what most people refer to when we talk about going to sleep and losing ground. It also isn’t exactly nightcapping, more like early morning capping, as most of the action happens up to about Noon PST where the coverage for us lacks.

SBI should fit in perfectly fine in T2, as bot SoR and TC have lacking coverage during these times. We got our coverage throughout each time zone within our continent, but our numbers dwindle at other times.

Lol especialy with the Havoc squads who kill all the dolyaks, take camps. Build siege in said camps to waste enemy resources and keep flagging keeps as contested to prevent waypointing.

Or the Mesmer Feints, were you stealth destroy a outer door, have your mesmers hide inside somewhere where you cant be spotted. Have a small force flee and let the defenders leave while everyone goes and restocks siege, then Mesmer portals their entire army past the gates and blitzkrieg caps.

T1 is the meat grinder, im sorry to see SBI fall behind.

You could always grow pawns in petri dishes like SoS.
