SORT OUT THE CONSTANT LAG
This is a big problem for many people and sucks the fun out of WvW for everyone on a daily basis. But the only thing I think they can do is reduce the player population cap for each zone to a realistic level that the server can handle.
Some people complain about 10 second skill lags, this morning on SoR/BG/JQ EB there was skill lag in SMC that was causing even number 1 auto attacks to not register for 10+ minutes we were all trying to get someone to record it lol.
They will not lower the WvW map caps until we the players demand it because last time they tried there was a kittenstorm of hate over the queues it caused. They have to both lower the WvW map population caps at the same time they do something to address the overstacking of the top tiers. I am hopeful they have something in the works and are just waiting to get it all sorted out but a new way to transfer guilds intact would be pretty cool. We really do just need to spread out until such time as (if ever) skill lag can be corrected.

Transfer down a few tiers. That will solve your skill lag right quick.
Firstly I am not on a high server, secondly they should sort out the lag as I have been on games where there is a lot more people meet up and dont suffer lag as bad as I do on here.
There has been talk of cap of 70 for each side if this is the case then we should not have any lag really when you look at games like Aion that had in excess of 600 people meeting up to fight and yes we had lag but no where as bad as we do on here.
you are crazy. lag is the only strategy in T1 servers… how are they supposed to take anything if lag is fixed?

There was a thread about this earlier. I said it wasn’t happening on low tier servers. Now I’m getting disconnects on Eredon Terrace which is the lowest ranked server in NA right now, so this disconnect thing at least isn’t a “your too high a tier” thing. There is a new connection issue with server and it’s only started in the last 24 hours.
Keep demanding answers. This lag is game breaking
Yeah I came in here to check before bed. I expected various threads with rage. Not getting any. This lag is terrible. Possibly the worst I have ever experienced. I have died so many times from DCs in combat
At this point its like swtor was except obv. not as bad lol…it comes down to their servers..and the way they handle everything. Its hardware limits on their end simple as that yes maybe better coding could help some…and I mean maybe a tad.
Its obv. not going to be fixed so ill proly be moving on wait for next mmo that seems appealing…I don’t pay good money on my own hardware and networking to have skill lag and pretend its ok….what a joke

No it wont because you’ll just get matched up against a blob server and you’ll be right back where you started. Trust me. I play on RoF, rank 21. This week we’re playing against Gandara, rank 12.

WVW has a player cap IF the game cannot handle it when there is a que or the player cap is reached for the bl, THEN anet needs to lower the cap cause its THere engine failing
also shouldnt buggs/lag be getting fixed or less the longer a game is out and not worse ?

T1….3 way EB fight at Stonemist….unplayable. Glad the focus is on content updates every 2 weeks and a living world because WvW will be empty if this keeps up.

/agree with Syk, I like your spark kiddo ANET needs to show us what lower WvW map populations caps feel like so we can start making some choices from there. If this is more than just a problem on the overfull worlds then there is a lot more work to be done.
On the downside, I am not surprised things actually get worse over time instead of better. That is a well documented problem with code in general. The more cooks in the kitchen and the faster there is turn over and movement between departments the more spaghetti code you are going to end up with. I get the feeling ANET grew really quickly there for awhile, got a lot of shake up and had some baseline changes with new ideas doing things the original engine design never dreamed of.
I do not envy them the work they have yet to do but I also know changing their WvW map populations caps is something they can do easily and quickly. I just expect they are waiting to do so until they have some other elements in place to make the transition more manageable and less of a kitten screaming contest when it hits.

Until they fix this with a patch, I’ll be playing other “stable” online games. If they don’t fix this soon they are going to lose a lot of people over this.
It is still possible to play GW2 with this crazy skill lag but you definitely have to adjust your play-style a bit and hope you don’t accidentally run into a lagfest battle because skill lag seems to stay with you a while once it starts for some even after they switch maps. Maybe it is more of a serious problem for the top tier servers who insist on running their blobs smack into each other all the time. >< Maybe this ANET’s secret way to try and create disincentive for zerging.

Lower the caps by 15% and open up free transfers to Ferg’s Crossing, Eredon Terrace, Anvil Rock, or Henge. These appear to be the lowest populated servers as anytime these servers are paired up, the scores tend to be somewhat close. But if there are other low pop servers, open them too.
I would only open maybe 1 or 2 at a time. Or make it specific so servers X, Y, and Z can only go to server A for example.

On that note, I’d be interested to see Anet use optimal map caps, and just make multiple small maps clustered for each BL & EBG.
Anet won’t address the lag and so people will stop playing WvW… maps get less people, and lag hides its ugly head and then Anet proclaims its fixed. /TheEnd

One new map could conceivable fix this by virtue of a wider pop spread, alas at the current pace we’ll get one in the next 2-3 years at the earliest.
To be honest it may sort the problem out for a few days until we get ques then we will have the lag issue start again what they need to do is let us be able to play the game lag free be that they either get improved servers or drop the cap but something needs to be done
