Since there’s no other way to get it unless you have a few (200) tournament tickets leftover; how about adding it as another choice to the Hero Weapon track End Chest so we can upgrade the rare Hero weapons to their Mistforged counterparts with the existing Mystic Forge recipe?

The logic behind my thinking is that:

• You have to fill the track to get the chest so that means doing WvW and/or associated dailies
• The Gift of Battle has a full track that needs to be completed
• Mist Core Fragments come with the Glorious Chest in addition to being another choice on the armour side of it.

I hope it will be a collection to get the mistforged skins. I salvaged all the hero and triumphant skins after unlocking them. Would be annoying to have to do all 19+18=37 tracks again if they just reintroduce a way to earn gift of heroes again.

They might as well just give you a Gift of Heroes for every 500 ranks you get in WvW, handed out retroactively ofc. That way it takes dedication to WvW to earn one, isn’t tied to tournaments, and still allows you to eventually earn enough through ranking up to promote every single Hero weapon (requiring you to get to Diamond Veteran rank). I think its fairly reasonable

Think they mentioned to make it a special reward track.

I hope they will make a way to improve the looks on the triumphant armor too. So we can have special looking weapon/armor. Right now I want any type of unique reward for wvw that would encourage player to play. Their are no high end rewards for wvw.

Any dependence on the old tournament tickets has to go, leftover tickets should still be spendable at the Battle historian.

No dependence on throwing original Hero Weapons into the MF together with a Gift of Heroes. As the weapons have no in-game use in terms of stats (rare item lvl80) these days, all but the very few with two dozen character slots & storage space in bags have kept them.

Anet should add a Hero Weapon collection that unlocks the Mistforged Hero’s weapons reward track, once you have completed it.
The final box of the track should either give complete Mistforged weapon or a Gift of Heroes (for those who still have an original weapon in storage).

Finishing the Mistforge Weapons track could give you an ascended back pack or perhaps even the/a part for a Legendary backpack.

All of those suggestions apply unless Anet wants to introduce Tickets as a viable WvW currency, of course.

Those skins were never easy to get in the first place. 500 WvW ranks to get a gift of heroes is not unreasonable. If you think about how hard it was to get them the first time they were around. Diamond Veteran would only be required if you wanted the entire set. But even if it was lowered to a Gift of Heroes given out every 250 WvW ranks it would still signify that you had put in a significant amount of time to WvW and allow you to get the entire set by rank 4,750.

If you think about what you are getting for it, those ranks are not unreasonable

People would just farm edge of the mists instead of normal WvW if it would be 500 WvW levels each. You can make 1000 levels per month there, so playing real WvW would punish you.

I think they should make it the the WvW equivalent of the ex machina collection, you can still bind it to WvW levels (say 2k or 3k) that you need to buy a specific item from a vendor..

Honestly if you did nothing but play ~6 hours of WvW a day for a month in order to go up 1000 ranks then I don’t have a problem with you getting 2 gift of heroes for the time you put in.

Either way its just one possible way ANet could re-introduce them without making them trivial to get. I’m not actually invested in it because I don’t think I’ll ever go for those weapons

Couldn’t be hard. Have one that you buy through Badges of Honor, one you buy through Proof of Heroics, one drop from player kills/obsidian sanctum end box, one drop from Lords.

God, please no. Collections are one of the dumbest things they added to this game. RNG based content is not fun and just leads to grinding and frustration of menial tasks that people don’t enjoy.

How are items unlocked and countable in your wardrobe RNG? The current Hero Weapons are 100% not RNG, because you get a guaranteed reward box at the end of the track to chose the skins you like.

Now that I’ve had some more time to think about this, this is a probably a better option. It would potentially allow players to get the entire set without requiring thousands of ranks in WvW, but would still show dedication towards obtaining the weapons.
