I’m not sure if this has been suggested, but I thought I’d mention it…

How about an UPGRADE option on Siege?

So when regular siege is placed, and someone walks up with Superior or Guild siege of the same type, he/she can choose to “Upgrade” it. Basically, replace the regular siege with the same type of siege but of higher quality.

Me and another server mate were talking how this would really help folks who have little resources still place regular siege and contribute to the protection our server’s stuff, then, when needed, folks with more resources (superior and guild lvl siege) can replace it. It would also help with having an area siege capped by regular siege and having to wait for it to “hopefully” die so you can put say, a SUPERIOR AC in the place of a reg AC in a now T3 tower/keep.

Oh and perhaps you could even make it a profession of sorts – i.e. tie it to WvW Ability Points?

Anet has utterly and totally failed to change a number to a lesser number on ACs for 4 years and you expect to revamp the way superior siege is built?

You got some really high flying ambitions there.

Not really. All he asks for is to change ikea siege into superiors, which are already ingame and heavily used.

Issue here is supply cost.

If you use blue print and supply to make regular and they throw a superior blue print upgrade on it you would skip the additional supply cost. Unless you’re saying that “upgrading” with superior blue print would make the siege back into build mode and require supply….in that case….trolls going to run around and just upgrade everything and leave it in build mode on 5min decay timer or burn your supply when not needed.

You know, when supply is a a premium.

You could make the upgrade option itself cost 10 supply, which is the difference between the two. That way, no build sites and no skipping the extra supply cost.

If you want to keep the time component, make the upgrade have a hammering animation like building siege but it does nothing if canceled early.
