Sorry if this has been suggested in the past but the search function in this forum is abysmal.

Background: I play on a national [DE] server (Elona Reach) and since German is only spoken in a very small time zone, we don’t have a strong night presence.
The WvW season, again, made it blatantly obvious that you can try as hard as you want, but you simply can not win a match-up against dedicated international servers (this includes some of the French national servers who have either recruited help from oversea territories or don’t need any sleep). During prime time (~16:00-23:00 UTC+1) our match-ups during season 1 (gold league) were all pretty even, but most weeks at least one of the enemy servers tore down all structures during the night with next to no opposition and greeted us with fully upgraded keeps and full maps the next morning. Since most people here have to go to work/school in the morning it subsequently takes us the whole day to recapture our parts of the maps before we can go into the offensive (resulting in bad PPTs the whole day). Rinse and repeat the next night.

The first example shows very well that this is a coverage issue. Thursday was a national holiday and many took Friday off as well. Thus more people were online during the night (by no means a huge zerg but far more than usual).

Suggestion: One simple way to avoid the enemy getting a 10k+ points lead during one night would be to scale the PPT on each map according to the number of players online for the respective enemy servers.
Example: Let’s say server #1 has 50 players on the map but server #2 and #3 next to none. In this situation server #1 should also gain next to no points for it’s held structures on this map. When no enemy is on the map to threaten you, you should not get points for “defending”. Accordingly servers #2 and #3 should get more points for their currently held structures when outmanned (on the respective map). When the player numbers for all three servers are roughly even the PPT would work like they do now.

This is a basic example only and the exact numbers and multipliers would need to be worked out. The outmanned server would still lose everything over night but at least the enemy would not be able to “farm” points with no opposition.

To easy to exploit, so going on your suggestion,

Server A 50 players,
Server B 5 players,
Server C 5 players,

So server A would have lower than normal PPT because they have no threat on there BL, so Server B and C could easily band together and never enter Server A’s boarderland, and just work on there own/ EBG,

Given that this game is a global game, its very hard for them to do anything that involves PPT, as something that works for you personally would punish many other people.
