Q:
Season 1 Schedule
WvW Coordinator
A:
We’ll get some sort of schedule out as soon as we have the matchups. I’ll post it up on the forums and then we’ll find a way to get it out more broadly as well. The matchups aren’t locked in until the season actually starts. So, while EU is ready, NA won’t be ready for 6.5 more hours.
I have asked this question before as well. Seeing how most of the WvW forum posts aren’t being answered by Devon, then they must be busy preparing for the season.
Here’s to hoping they do not break up 5-8 in NA. It’s ironic that leagues are set up in a way to reduce competition.
Will there actually be a schedule? Could be just more RNG limited to those within the league? Seems like that would match the ANET approach to past WvW efforts.
There should be a schedule. If for no other reason than to prevent accusations of impropriety if a close league happens to get a match-up that strongly favors one of the teams towards the end.

Since they’ve already said that every server in a league will be in a match at least once with every other server, there has to be a schedule. There’s no guarantee the random matchups we have now would do that.
Still don’t understand why there hasn’t been a schedule published though, unless they feel that servers could conspire before the match was known.
t minus 8 hours and counting…..guess it’s going to be a surprise. Or maybe they don’t even know…….random number generator FTW.

This week’s matches aren’t over yet and while unlikely it is still technically possible for positions to change.
They could at least give us a “week 1 will be servers 1/5/9 etc” or something.
How will we know the overall score? Who’s in the lead from week to week?
It would be good to know…so I can get the kitchen sink out and throw it at the server I need to throw it at…

Hmm, yeah, NA is ready. SBI isn’t getting 6th, so the leagues are pretty much locked. I guess BP and Ebay are in a tight battle for who will be 10th going into the start of the season, but in reality, that will make little difference in the grand scheme of things.

Any reason you couldn’t just publish it with rank numbers instead of server names, and we can figure it out for ourselves? I mean you must have known the schedule from that perspective for weeks…

I think you might be giving them too much credit.

from a rank perspective, EU gold, silver, and bronze all have the same schedule. so it’s likely that NA silver and bronze will have the same schedule too.
assuming that’s true, I’m guessing the following schedule for my own server (Ehmry Bay):
week 1: BP EB YB
week 2: SBI EB NSP
week 3: CD EB DB
week 4: FA EB IoJ
week 5: FA CD EB
week 6: SBI EB YB
week 7: BP EB YB
we’ll see if that turns out to be correct.
NA gold league I won’t try to predict because that’s the only league with 6 servers rather than 9.
