Hi Anet,

I’m an avid WvW fan however I rarely focus on achievements, I like to roam with a small group trying to maintain control of the ruins and have fun in my own way.

Over the last Season I missed out on some key achievements
(Primarily the EB achieves) which I needed to gain access to the reward chest even though I WvW 5 days a week at least.

Could you perhaps consider adding a more flexible way of gaining a credit towards the total achievement completion in the next season, something akin to the daily updates you can get in LS updates. Perhaps a daily kill x amount of invaders.

This would be much appriciated.

Don’t worry. The chest wasn’t worth it. be glad that you didn’t waste the time….

The only EB specific ones were Merc Camps/Stonemist. I got the key for the Reward chest and finished the season with 0 Stonemist Caps or Merc Camp Caps. If you WvW’d 5 days a week, you should have had more than enough time to get the key, unless those play sessions were 15 minutes long, and only included taking a camp and a sentry.

To be fair, some people cannot do jumping puzzles and they counted for 4 of the 18 possible achievements. I got one of the borderland jumping puzzles but ended up rage quitting the exact copies in the other 2 borderlands because, well, I suck at jumping puzzles. That meant I had to finish every other achievement EXCEPT merc camps. I killed 450 enemies, I nabbed 225 sentries and dolyaks. I took SM 5 times, etc, etc. The majority of the tasks were achieved through normal gameplay but dolyaks required a determined effort and a lot of griefing to get it done and I can see how a task like that could demand more than the average day in the mists. I was not in EB for the majority of my yak kills though.

An achievement is an achievement, partials don’t count, not in dailies, monthlies or any other area of the game. I don’t get the slayer of centaurs achievement until the 1000th one falls, either you do the achievements to completion or you don’t, pro rating is not an option. Despite your efforts on a daily basis, everyone doesn’t get the gold star.

At the end of the day though, it wasn’t worth the effort though my magic find went up about a quarter of a point with the 1 rare and 6 greens I got in my chest. I do have a toon that’s not leveled so the tomes are helpful. My server finished third so no finisher but who cares, it was temporary.

Meta Achievment: …Should exlude non WvW specific objectives like jumping puzzles and such.
Reward: … Should give stuff, that PvElers get easily, like ascended items, but pure WvWers, and especially Roamers, have problems to get.

It’s more the case that I don’t care to follow a shopping list of to-do’s to get the title of season 1 veteran.

My opinion is that if you spend allot of time in WvW during season one, you should have access to that title.

I’m sure there are plenty of players that have played many hours in WvW this season, that didnt complete the achievements. It should be renamed to “Season 1 WvW achievement hunter” rather than veteran. Because its essentially what it is.

But reading these replies, it works differently than I thought – you didnt have to get all of them to get this?

I might have looted the key and not realised on an alt. Will check tonight

You can get nearly all the ‘easy’ EB ones done in a day or two. Hardly going out of your way.
