Maybe it should have ended last week. People have finals and other things … Do not what the devs are expecting. It is starting to feel a bit too long and sensing some wearing down on some players.

Too late for that, and the season is far too long.

Exactly this. Look at when the tournament ends compared to the date of the China launch. Coincidence? I think not. If you think Anet even considered the interests of the WvW game mode when creating this tournament, you’re fooling yourself. WvW is but a disposable pawn to Anet.

After 7 victories, the winners are determined.
After 7 loss the losers are determined.

Funnily for all other places the opposite is true: only the last 2 rounds decide about place 2-8.

This seems to me like a very bad tournament construction.

Sad but true. I was thinking the exact same thing when i saw how long season 2 lasts.

If they had made the Mistforged weapons ascended quality instead of exotic then servers would have probably fought a lot harder to get them, with more PvE players doing WvW for the pts.

But as it is now, feels like everyone is just going through the motions, largely because everyone knows every servers finishing place give or take a position or two.

Way too long. Nobody wants to be stuck with dominant servers this long. FA, Mag, DB, SoR, etc are getting screwed for months because they cannot get a decently balanced match.

Next season should get rid of leagues. Swiss matchups can insure that matches are meaningful at least.

Trurthfully there is more drama at the edges of the leagues (can too silver beat bottom gold?) and the rewards should tie to the drama so that the game is interesting.

Because giving the best rewards to the most stacked server (and less to everybody else) is not interesting.

WvW Season 2:

Weeks 1-3 Hordes of AP/PVE/Fairweather 1-pushing every Enemy/Door/Ambient/Pve-Mob.
Weeks of 4-6 #1 ranked servers asserting PPT dominance.
Weeks 6-9 WvW as usual with a few sprinklings of #2/#3 ranked servers duking it out to see who will get a few more greens as rewards.

Leagues are an epic failure to me for the following reasons:
-They flood WvW with people who really don’t want to be in WvW, and the retention of said players beyond 2-3 weeks of Leagues is little-to-none.
-PPT in itself is riddled with problems, and it is a flawed system at best, a complete failure at worst. Building a “competition” out of such a metric only further degrades the game-mode.
-And finally, and perhaps most importantly: Leagues feel like more of a “reason” to play WvW (from an ANET standpoint). Which IMO is a terrible sign for the longevity of the mode. Leagues make the other weeks leading to and after WvW even more pointless than they already are/were. (again from a Scoreboard/PPT stand point)

WvW should be able to stand on its own without relying on Leagues/gimmicks to get players to play. If not then it needs to be revitalized and improved upon.(not likely). New maps and revamping the PPT metric to accommodate population swings would be far greater improvements to WvW than leagues ever will.

I would have preferred it to not even exist. Although, as previously stated, it’s just a filler.

I’m on mag and i don’t think we are getting screwed. I like being outnumber. I rather have endless fights then blowing servers out and getting bored.
