I read the official post, it says the match-up is determined by the first week’s performance.

Does that mean that if your server is unfortunately pushed to Gold League due to bad match-up before the Season, and as a result being slaughtered completely in Gold League in the first week, and the lucky server who used to be T2 hopped to Silver League and enjoyed slaughtering everyone else, would the match-up be adjusted in the second week of the season, so the overpowered server jumped back to Gold League and the much weaker server dropped back to Silver League?

Or am I take the post completely wrong, that the match-up will not change whatsoever after Season 2 officially begins? (March 28, 2014)

It’s saying that for the first week you will be matched with servers in your respective tier and then (for the case of silver and bronze, not sure how gold will work), the 3 servers that placed first will face each other, and same for second and third. Leagues will be locked in.

In which case you should know that this is a SWISS-STYLE tournament, meaning that even if you do get put in gold you will be facing the consolation bracket most likely (the lower more fit servers for you to fight)

so I wouldn’t be too upset about being put in gold league

Guess no-one has a certain answer yet, hope the official staff see this and answer it properly… So far the lack of response from the official staff makes this whole matter really vague.

DB is in a bad situation no matter what.

You get into gold and get slaughtered for 2 months and fairweathers don’t come out, fairweathers get annoyed and transfer.
You get into silver and play PvD for 2 months and WvW guilds get annoyed with nothing to do and transfer.
It would probably be in the best interest of DB to try and make gold and encourage and train your fairweathers to make the best of a bad situation.
Winning silver will get you a skin, that’s it. Just a weapon skin.
I think in the eyes of most, DB will be taken more seriously as a competitive server by being in gold.
I’ve seen what the T2 guilds say about DB. Prove them wrong and come out and fight.

The top 6 servers as of March 28th will be locked into gold for 9 weeks.
There’s no flip flopping back and forth between gold and silver, or silver and bronze after the tournament starts.
There’s no post about it anywhere, and there won’t be, as it would make no sense.

Actually that makes alot more sense since this “trial week” is best accurately reflect the strength of a server, much accurate than Scoring since RNG of matching screw the whole thing completely. (Srsly, why the hell DB fight SoR and SBI twice in a roll? Makes no sense since DB win them a large amount of score for the first round.)

Thanks to RNG trolling, now the score messed RIGHT BEFORE Season 2.
Is this intentional?

BTW, here’s the source that brings up my question.

“The initial round of the tournament will match the worlds in each league according to their world rating. After that round has ended, worlds will be matched up according to how many points they have in the tournament. This will continue after each round, which means that the matchups are not predetermined but are dependent upon the results of the previous matchups. If two teams have the same number of points, the team with the higher world rating will be considered the higher seed for the purposes of the matchup. Matchups will continue to match worlds that are close to each other in performance, rather than following a predetermined schedule – which will make for much more exciting and competitive matches.”

edit: After re-reading it again, I think I get what the post really means now…
It means that only the selected 6 server in the league will rotate… I think I’ll delete my post now…
