What is going to bring the new expansion to WvW?

Mi opinion.

-New map. Underground borderlands (Primordius and stuffs).

-Fly and fly battles. (Bloodstone Fen and new skills)

-Guild Halls upgrades (Time consuming for guilds)

-The new score system (Enough of betas…)

-New League.

What do you think?

We used to think,

Now we just react.

We learned.

Sadly I think we will get pve mounts before we get wvw content.

(Even though gliders and waypoints sort of circumvent the need for mounts).

Fly and fly battles … no. There is a game called AION for that. NCsoft would appreciate if you buy that as well, because from the latest q2 financials… it looks like it was doing about on par with gw2 … which was it’s worse financial quarter I believe yet. I have faith it’s a peaks a valley thing, but please no flying battles, at least not in WvW.

What would be the point of gates, walls? Would we now have to use giant rocks and break through roofs instead?

I would like to see Anet hold true to there story, add new content like Ring of Fire, or the crystal desert if its still there – also would like 1 WvW map, maybe new elite specs for all classes. Taht’s about it.

I gave up hoping to see Tengu made available.

Not much. WvW is being developed apart from PvE, changes like scoring changes are coming anyway. There won’t be a new map yet thats for sure after what happened with the DBL. And they have categorically said there won’t be another league season.

My guess will be nothing at all.

They’ll claim these little polls they are doing are enough cos they dont want to rush anything and unbalance anything :P

I think Anet will have a harder time selling their next expansion, seeing as even PvE players said HoT is lacking content for the price we paid for it!

A new race, new weapon set for each class, a new trait line for each class and the updated meta will revolve around the new trait lines so we will have to buy to stay competitive.

Oh and at least two large changes that are expected will be watered down or not implemented at all.

And yep most of us still around will buy it.

WvW I am sad to say does not seem like it can be fixed. It really doesn’t matter what they do, aside from the nice and long overdue qol implements, the big changes just cause even more problems and alienate more players combined with the long times between any fixes made or attention paid. Content droughts and stale match ups leave players bored, unbalanced builds discourage build variety and counters.

The main problem with wvw, is that there has never been a proper vision to guide it set forth by the team. So it seemed more like anet looked at wvw as if it were an obligatory caretaker role rather then a serious game mode to be encouraged and cared for.

Not saying wvw is dead, but that doesn’t mean its in good shape either.Bad leadership and lack of leadership and guidance will take its toll. If you lack vision, and don’t understand your player base, then don’t expect success.

That’s the problem, a lot of people reluctantly bought HoT not because they wanted to, not because they were excited to play it, but simply to stay competitive. This is what happens when you release an expansion that is heavy on features not content. Heck you cant even put wxp points for shield generator mastery unless you own hot..that’s just dumb.

If nothing more, some proper class balancing would be great, by proper class balance I mean making the red headed step children of classes useful in all areas.

I think everyone in WvW learned not to get overly excited. It will focus on PvE and WvW will be thrown some scraps which will probably be nothing we have been asking for or want.
