Congrats guys, it’s nice to see the positions going to names I actually recognize.

If any of the dev’s are still paying attention, maybe you can give our new forum specialists access to an alt account with a weekly free transfer. WvW plays very differently depending on what tier you are in.

I will definitely say congratz….anet finally made some good choices. Good Luck guys! Good to see active WvW’ers being able to help provide solid feedback!

I would definitely hope that both take into account what goes on in the lower NA tiers as well, since not everyone is in T1/2/3 nor want to be (not sure on EU but everything I’ve heard is that they are more spread out in general than here… makes it tempting but the latency would drive me insane)

It’s actually not bad at all, in comparison with T1 NA.

I run about 80fps, and 120 during big fights, which is still playable and not reduced to the 111111 method of wvw

I will definitely check out EU! Where would EU players suggest that I visit first? Also, remember I am a little lowbie so that I can move this account around without killing myself in gems.

I would check T1 servers like SFR. Most other servers are “dead” outside of prime time.

That’s not true at all, lol. It’s the beauty of EU.

Core group of scrappy overnighters make it delightful and still a lot of fun.

If there is not at least a zerg of 30 people its dead in my eyes.

Well, I do understand every server is going to provide a different experience, and SBI has its own rather extreme peculiarities that are going to make me aware that this isn’t how every server plays; a lot of people have been glad to find out that Anet was gracious enough to actually provide 3 extra maps that aren’t EOTM! Thankfully I do have friends IRL that do play elsewhere and we also have this forum, and there are also devs that can jump around too. Of course, if they ever decide as suggested above by Jim Hunter to let us hop around without breaking our banks, that’d be cool too. Just saying. It’d just be for “research”.

Although I would like to hazard a guess that since the two of us are t1/t3, I guess it’s (rightfully) natural to assume that our experiences are more skewed towards zerging. I’m not gonna pvf my own server much, but that’s definitely true. :p However, I would just like to put forth that I am actually pretty familiar with having only a few people on map or sometimes no one at all vs whatever the heck as attacking at the same time and generally being forced to backcap everything with a party of 2-3. Our coverage gaps tend to be pretty extreme at times.

I congratulate you both on being chosen, thank you for being willing to donate your spare time for what will undoubtedly gobble up hours of it, and simultaneously warn you that you may need a thick skin. The last part you probably already knew.

The thing is, while your intentions may be right on the money, ArenaNet’s track record on implementing changes people ask for is not regarded as being the best, so only time will tell how many of the criticism and suggestions you may pass on will actually result in actual WvW development changes. Because we have had so little access to the development team through this forum, many will use this opportunity to shift the blame for any inaction on you.

I do wish you godspeed. At the end of the day, we all want the same thing: a better WvW experience.

anet is great at listening to us

theyre too kitten slow about implementing things cuz theyve stretched themselves over 4 games worth of material and only focus majorly on 1-2 at any time, and theyre horrible at communicating back that theyve heard us. the communications blackout on anything that aint ready is to blame. if theres a suggestion they like and end up implementing 6-24 months later, we dont even get a “HeyGuys we like this and its on the table” 1-6 months after its first posted/read or anything. but frankly, with that kind of turnaround time for suggestions, i would forget about whatever thread i first read the suggestion in too. so i dont exactly have a solution for the frustration, unless anet hires another 100 devs so all game modes can get lots of attention…

maybe anet should go on a hiring spree.

Thanks. Trust me, I know of these pitfalls quite well and have expressed some of it myself in the past.

I am well aware that this isn’t magic and regardless of our best efforts there is a chance of failure. But since there is no gw2 for me without wvw and I like this game enough then I think it is simply one of those things where I should at least try, as long as there is a nonzero chance. I wouldn’t forgive myself any other way.

Well, I also believe we should focus on what needs work now (as well as what is currently working). Otherwise we’ll get jenga design where you pile more and more stuff on a questionable foundation, and that might be a bad idea.
