It’s likely that the ranks are split into tiers and recycled. So you’ll have Invader→Legend, then Bronze Invader→Bronze Legend, Silver Invader→Silver Legend, etc.

Golden Legend is the final rank, so I guess it’s the same ranks over again with the adjective before it.

Jim, madness has no purpose…or reason…but it may have a goal.

It does seem a bit awkward but you only have so many ways around it with 2000 ranks (as there are not enough synonyms to cover all those ranks without just getting stupid at some point). That said, this isn’t exactly uncommon where tiered ranking has bizarre jumps in what sounds better. (For example leagues can have beginners through veterans tier for competition pairings, and each tier will have placements within the tier and you can be 1st place Beginner to be promoted to 16th place Intermediate, or some such.)

That being said, I don’t particularly care because (a.) I don’t do it for the title, and (b.) I cannot see it.

I didn’t know the rank grind became a flat 5,000 requirement for each level. I just saw the jump from 1,000 to 5,000 and figured it was going to continue down that line, increasing the further you went.

It’s not a downgrade, it seems that because we have people, who in less than a month grind this so much they maxed the first “tier”, they basically made several tiers using the same names with a prefix in front to indicate a higher tier. It makes perfect sense to me.

When I 1st heard of this I thought the ‘bronze’ would actually be the colour of the rank or something lol…but yeah, going from legend to bronze invader is incredibly dumb, it’s just silly. Needs to be changed. If it’d be possible I would choose to stop advancing past rank 149.

Hahaha! I won’t have a rank 120 character but those bronze and silver ranks are depressing.. It would have sucked to go from Savior of the Kurzicks/Luxons to Bronze Kurzick/Luxon Supporter in GW1.
