depends on your lifestyl. for me night is for slepp nort for gaming. I wake up early so 6 am reset is perfect for me, whole day reset iunstead running on coffe throught night to not fall asleep lolz

problem here is the guild I am in, does missions after reset (3AM my time). This is obviously regarding the main reset and not WvW but it’s the reason I’m not sleeping to get up early for WvW.

Wait, why has NA reset time been increased to 3am BST (2am GMT)?

Wouldn’t it make more sense to revert NA reset time to the original 0000GMT (0100BST or 0000UTC) for those of us that are in the EU but play in NA servers with a server full of friends???

There is no way I want to miss reset nor do I want to play yet another game (previous game was GvG and was only in NA..reset was 4am GMT).

Now some may say “Switch to EU” to which I would say no, because I love my server, made alot of friends in my server and I want to participate in ET events including WvW reset.

Please revert NA reset to 0000UTC please? (I may be the only one sad at this, but i at least want to put in some of my effort to help my server without losing much sleep)

No, simply because now with separate Region Resets ANet can set NA at a time that allows the West Coast of NA to have a shot at getting in after work too.

I don’t mean to sound harsh but including NA West Coast at Reset is far more important than allowing EU NA players to.

That is true, nobody did ask nor tell me to play on a NA server, I chose a NA server because I had some friends on it (now I have many) and,this was a time when reset time wasn’t separated so either way if I chose EU or NA the reset time was the same, 0000UTC.

It is not whining, but the reset has been the same for the past 8months and putting it back to the original, 0000UTC for NA servers not only makes sense but is logical as so many people are used to that time on NA and have worked a system around it.

Now? EU players on NA servers either need to miss reset or pay to transfer to an EU server, which many including myself will not do to have a good reset time.

But i need to ask for some clarification.

on the german forum the announcement says reset is going to be at 2000 CEST (which is UTC+2), here you write its on 1900 GMT (which is UTC+0)

so regarding to the german announcement it would be at 1800 UTC, regarding to this it would be 1900 UTC, which one is true?

I suppose you mixed GMT and BST up in this posting, best stick with UTC time

9PM is pretty late for me, honestly. I was hoping for something more like 8PM or 7PM, but I understand the allure of 9PM. It may be late for ESTers, but it means people in PST get to start at 6PM, which is just-after-work time. It’s probably the best compromise, and I’m willing to deal with it for the good of the game.

I approve of this alteration.. If I could send cake to Devon (incidentally I’m originally from Devon (a county in the UK)), I would. But I’m on this side of the pond, and the dev Devon isn’t.

But why should they take a very small minority of players into consideration when the majority would gain more from the coming change?

Ok I have a question, if reset is now 9pm EST time and European 7pm GMT. what does that mean for all the Europeans that on are the American servers!!!! Is the reset time for us the same as the European servers or are we stuck either not being able to play again or have to start playing 2 -4am taking in mind im GMT+1.

Last week was a lot of fun for me being able to play at midnight(not perfect)but a great improvement on the 3am which it was for me with the daylight saving.

Hope someone can clarify this issue for me and any other Europeans on the amercan servers. thank you

Well this just sucks for EU and UK players playing on NA servers, and while yes you might say that we are on the wrong servers just hear me out.

Firstly the people who stayed up to 1-2am before already had to go out of their way to play (and i’m not complaining about that), but any later and we might as well not go to sleep which is not practical.

Secondly after the time that is important is the 5-7 hours from rest time, so when the wvw reset was at server reset everyone got a chance to be part of the action, now players who can’t play at this time miss out.

Thirdly as a Uk payer I run a large guild on a NA server and how can I and other commanders who want to play with their friends lead if we are asleep?

Actually, 9pm EST is 10pm EDT. Daylight savings is when the clocks go forward, regular time is when it goes back.

I wonder if ArenaNet are every going to make a change where people will not complain about something..

Very good! The responsiveness of the WvW continues to impress me. Maybe I’ve grown cynical, but I really stopped expecting MMO companies to be this accommodating. More reasons to recommit to GW2 for WvW.

Some great news. Thanks for getting everything worked out Devon and server crew.

Instead of splitting the server times… I’m still wondering why the day of week wasn’t changed… Why not move to a Saturday where all of us can get on early? No matter what part of the world you live in. It would be Sunday for some and Saturday for the rest… changing times isn’t solving the issue… please just change the day.

But apparently that was not possible either (based on the thread started after they changed the reset timers) since there would be hour-long queues if you weren’t there the second reset happened.

I’d rather not have my Friday nights be the boring ends of matches, thanks~

Good news, thanks for making a lot of players happy.
(albeit not me personally as I work until between 19:00-20:00 GMT so as of this change I can only be on reset on the rare occasion that I can go home early).

Last week it was changed and reset for me was midnight, not perfect but I thought It was a happy medium and there was sometime at reset for everyone. Now as I understand it because im on an American server my reset time is even worse than before and is now 3am??

UTC for many is even more confusing as it doesn’t take daylight savings into consideration.
Best call it UK time instead of confusing folks with GMT in winter and BST in summer as most have figured out by now that mainland western Europe (CE(S)T) is 1 hour ahead okitten time all year round.

I’m guessing that the new NA reset time will be, as stated, 9:00 PM EST (which is 10:00 PM EDT). I don’t think this was a typo. We’ve seen evidence in the past that the GW2 servers do not know about daylight savings time, so it’s reasonable to suppose that times in GW2 will always be “standard time”.

So, we will have a 10:00 PM reset on the US east coast and 7:00 PM reset on the US west coast when daylight savings time is in effect. In the wintertime when we’re on standard time, resets will be 9:00 PM on the US east coast and 6:00 PM on the US west coast.

The masses of West Coast NA players that never get to play on reset (esp last week) because we have to work are happy. You chose to join a NA server. We have to work.
