I started doing WvWvW more for the past two weeks to get some badges for the Gift of Battle since I’m nearing the point of having all the basic mats needed for a legendary.

Problem is badges are simpy not dropping for me even after hours in WvWvW. I’ve been doing WvWvW with my guild and even though I get anywhere from 150-400 kills I barely get any badges. A good example of this was three days ago, we went into wvw at around 8pm and got out at around 11pm. 460 something kills later and 3 hours in WvWvW I managed to get 5 badges.

Yes….5 badges…… Is it really that random of a drop? On the other hand my guildies have been reporting anywhere from 60-145 badges in less time and less kills. How does this work?

I’ve read somewhere in another thread that guardians(which is what i’m running) have a hard time getting badges. If so will this be fixed?

At the moment i’m just doing the jumping puzzles each day for 16 badges since i can spend less time on it and get more badges then run around WvW for hours killing hundreds of ppl getting barely any.

Here is a couple of stats for you.

3,347 total kills and exactly 574 badges

Here is another:
4,946 total kills and exactly 505 badges

Pathetic drop rates and why? So people don’t get pvp armor? Or buy to much siege or you know actually have fun…

Because they expect you to get a legendary weapon overnight.

I just go my 1000th kill Achievement today and have around 340 Badges in total. Quite a few of those have been from jumping puzzles however. No more than 300 will have been from players.

I started out as a full support guardian to avoid the front lines when I first started. After getting used to it, I’ve built to be more of a shocktrooper. So I can get more kills.

Still, my ratio on kills to badges is 20:1.

I don’t find collecting the Badges that hard, the bigger problem is there is nothing good to buy with them. If you don’t want the single lone stat configuration that is on WvW gear you are just out of luck. There also isn’t much in the way of looks to get them for that reason. There is the basic Invader gear look, then the exotic 80 version, but both pale in comparison to the variety of styles you can get from PVE/Dungeons.

Anet needs to step it up in the WvW rewards department. You already get nothing for winning your bracket, at least increase the item options.

So far I’ve gotten 900 badges and I have 2230 kills in WvW.
Do you guys not loot your loot bags or what’s up? Yeah, some of them come from puzzles, but not more than 100-150.
The badge drop rate is completely fair imo, the prizes for the gear is a bit ridiculous however.

I loot my bags all the time i even resorted to scan the battlefield afterwards to double check for bags but even if i find any they contain gray or white junk.

On a side note doing the jumping puzzle is becoming impossible atm since so many ppl (especially dragonbrand) feel the need to camp the chest or chokes.

I’ve been ambushed in there for the past 3 days by 15-30 ppl -.-

Bordlerlands battleground doors are locked (bugged) so you can’t complete them post patch anyway.

I’ve gotten the same amount of badges with Zorlak but with three times more kills and by doing all the jumping puzzles as priority, since it seems it is THE way to gain honor badges. Drop rate from anything else is too low considering that weapons costs 400 badges for 2H, 260 for 1H and the armor set costs 1890.

788 kills – 256 badges..

The last 188 kills didn’t gave me ANY BADGE OR LOOT
I am offended in every way.

I got 256 badges in about 1.5 weeks maximum.
And after that, no matter how much I played, no drops.

So basically you go to WvW to
-spend your money on siege equipments (for nothing. because no reward)
-spend your money on repairing (for nothing,because no reward)
-hoping to get some badges to buy something with it (not happen, nerfed drop rate)

I ask you, where is the fun then? Or is it fun to make yourself poor as hell for NOTHING? because you get literally nothing at WvW. No rewards!

I am also playing a guardian.

No jump puzzles, 1863 kills, 428 badges. Which is 23%.

I have found it a lot easier to get exotic level power/vitality/toughness gear from Orr temple karma vendors. Even though I spend almost all my time in WvW.

I ask you, where is the fun then? Or is it fun to make yourself poor as hell for NOTHING? because you get literally nothing at WvW. No rewards!

Last I checked you don’t pay for blueprints or repairs with karma, exp, badges, general loot or crafting materials. Also maybe you shouldn’t pay that Alpha Siege golem (if it’s even needed) out of your pocket if you’re near broke. You could collect within your guild/WvW group.

I get 2-3 gold a day from WvW and that is after having spent 1-2 gold on repair costs+ siege. And I’m on the second lowest ranked server where we don’t get easy pickings, hard work and a lot of dying and sieging is required.

So you make 5g per day from WvW? Riiight. How long do you play, 15-20hrs per day?
