The WvW update should have been timed with a WvW reset and the server links removed.
As it is they should be unlinked asap.

Yeah, a bit of a wee oversight, methinks.

Wonky WvW as it stands now. And, this week going to mess with server activity levels for open/closes and metrics for the re-links.

Wouldn’t it be lovely if we could all go back to the way it was before linking?

We certainly aren’t having population issues at the moment

And honestly, for EU at least, it’s a better system without the linking.

With the upcoming…renaming and 360’ing on loyality, it’ll be interesting to see what happens in the relink that follows.

Meanwhile at Desolation, most of the PVE’ers have gone, 2 weeks ago there was 50-100 man queues on all maps. Can you imagine if Desolation had a link and the PVE’ers had incentive to WvW again.

I just think Links are a bandaid and causes more problems, than fixing population imbalance at all.

The most significant reward of this patch, prolly the last chance for influx of new players, they didn’t left.
They have been aforethought “ignored”, in order to serve their “vested” interests. They even brag about that on chat. Business as usual…

This is clear in hindsight, but there wasn’t any way of knowing how successful the update would be. We all expected a population bump but no one knew it would be this large and this enduring. Also, it’s been a little under two weeks—population likely hasn’t settled yet.

Thus, there probably wasn’t a way to handle this much better with the information they had. Whenever population spikes this hard, some things are going to break.

tl;dr u all got played. and ur all still getting played

Because of the timing of the last update, Anet should leave the pairings as they stand for the next 2 months.

This is not everywhere. On Deso for example, in peak we have less people and commanders than before the patch. A lot of people here got discouraged by the situation and quit (hopefully temporarily), guilds who can do something could not get in, and the new people got constantly slaughtered by the T1 blobs. The fact that we are unlinked, constantly underpopulated and our enemies are linked also did not help. I dunno how you can be top 3 and be linked…

Plus we finished last yet went up in server rating, and got the same horrid matchup again. That system also has issues.

Now we are slowly recovering, the people who stayed are slowly learning but they are not there yet and we have lost some experienced WvWers in the bad days.
