Guild Wars 2

Hey all,

I’ve been an on-and-off again player since beta, and have convinced my girlfriend to join our wonderful GW2 world.

I’ve been on Tarnished Coast since the beginning, and while it’s a great server, it’s always full. So it’s been impossible for her to join, and as I think about it I’ve grown much more casual with WvW over the years, so a lower tier server that is more roamer friendly would be a nice change. I’ve been reading about the server merging and how has this changed things?

We are very casual players and friendly atmosphere and lower intensity WvW would be our preference. Can anyone make a recommendation?

Just a suggestion, the wvw forum is for Server shaming and flaming and or whining till a net is finally done with this forum (they were allready in the past).
If you want an answer that helps you actually find a Server i honestly suggest reposting or requesting a move to the players helping players sub forum. Players there have they intention of helping others.
I hope you find a Server that is to your liking, as i have no idea about US matchups.

Out of all the servers I’ve been to I’d say ebay probably has one of the friendliest communities. It’s currently in t4 so you don’t run into too many blobs.

I’ve been pretty happy with WvW roaming on Borlis Pass since I transferred back in there. Being paired with Fort Aspenwood currently, we’re rolling pretty good match ups and there seems to be quite a bit of roamers around to fight against as well. And aside from reset night, the queues are minimal or non-existent. Even on reset night, we only had queues of about 5-10 per map, one map was even without a queue lol.

Have her join Kaineng, if you want to stay on TC, as they are currently paired. The linking of the servers for wvw has basically made for one world(two servers) for each ‘server’ in each wvw matchup. That pairing might change every 3 months, so by having your gf go to Kaineng to get into the TC/K pairing…..well that pairing might change in a couple months.

You would both be better off moving to one of the lower populated servers together, then, even when the pairings are changed, you would still be on the same server for wvw. Also, keep in mind that the desert borderlands are going to be rotated in for the alpine borderlands, as well. (Supposedly ever 3 months)

Kaineng, Borliss, Ferguson’s Crossing, Sorrow’s Furnace……they all are pretty nice servers with good people. If you move to Kaineng and need a friendly guild(no rep required) that does a bit of everything, give me a holler in game and I can get one of our guild leaders to send you and your gf an invite.

Roaming is still doable on servers that are paired up with T1 servers, but it is easier on those servers that are paired up with T3 or T4 servers. If you really want to do a lot of roaming, I would suggest Borliss, FC, or SF. (Only reason I am not suggesting any other low paired servers is because I don’t have any experience with them)

I am currently on Sorrow’s Furnace with my second account, and it is quite good for roaming. Hardly any queues, too.
