I just have this simple question and I’d like for someone on ArenaNet to give an answer….
It is worth the effort and time to try and bring more guilds to the/a server at this point?
I know we are supposed to wait until “later this year” (and I am taking a break until later this year), but some light on the future of the servers in WvW would be much appreciated and could take away some of the shady thoughts out of the majority of WvW players who are left.
Well ArenaNet would tell you yes, because they want the transfer gem $$, but they dont read this forum so they wont even answer.
Honestly it’s hard to say because you can bring a guild to your server and that guild leaves game or dies off after a month. Especially with Blade n Soul out and Black Desert coming out in a few months.
WvW is in serious trouble, it’s at the point where we are trying to get guilds to come to T1 so we have people to fight or that raiding in EoTM is more fun than actual wvw.
I still think megaserver wvw and bringing back the old Bls would be a quick/ temporary fix until they do the overhaul (if it ever happens).
Amazing how they are so willing to squander something with great potential, you have a game with one of, if not the best combat but wont use that to their advantage but would rather let it die. And have absolutely no sense of urgency to fix it. But after watching that video of the interview where the CEO and Collin totally shot down a wvw question and seemed annoyed that anything about wvw was even asked, i guess it’s not that surprising.

This is actually a good point because servers will still presumably be storing gold for this purpose.

Ever see a guildie’s yellow dot in WvW and mouse over it? “Player is on another instance of this map.” Anet will not kill the golden goose yet- they want your gem cash for transfer fees right up until the day megaserver happens. Then sooooo many people will rage-quit because they spent cash to transfer and it will mean nothing at that point.

I’ve noticed that as well the other day “player is in another instance”. It’s coming and anet is already implementing.
I do agree. The devs are pretty easy to read and it’s pathetic. “We’re not quite ready to release our wvw plan” is what we heard from the dev, but what I read is “we’re not quite ready because we want to milk gem transfer sales as much as possible”. What’s sad is the business plan won’t work. They are just driving off more players who get frustrated clinging onto their precious gem sales instead of being honest with their customers.
