Servers with less zerg?
30-40ish per zerg is about normal for lower tier servers. The trick is finding a server that isn’t dead.
how new are you to the game? If you delete all your characters, you can transfer servers for free. That way you can try out different servers before making a final decision.
I’d say about 10-20 is about as big a zerg as you’ll find in the borderlands on my server. We don’t get skill lag. If you are new to the game, the poster above me has got a good idea. Twitch streams can give you a good idea of what a server’s like. It’s unedited and you can see what it’s like maybe checkin in on random points to see how zergy it is or how much standin around they do.
Thanks for all the replies. I’m more on the casual side than hardcore, so I don’t want to delete my high level character. It took me alittle while to get there.
you should definitely consider the bronze league servers, queues are non-existent down there and their average zergs consist of no more then 25 people.
The higher in rankings you go the higher the population is.
I’m also on TC. Fights taking and defending towers are usually not overwhelmingly crowded, normally not more than 25 or so on each side. The keeps or Stonemist can be a different story, of course. The really big battles are when BG and SoR go at eachother, and we have usually tried to stay out of that action at a safe distance (unless we get caught between them, that really sucks, but not for very long.) We need you in TC, it is a good server with some good commanders and a wide range of roles for people in WvW. We can really use help at the towers.
If you want to completely avoid the giant ones then T6 and lower is where you should head. If you want a little zerg, good skirmish and decent solo play, BP/IoJ/CD/YB all have a bit to offer in each category.

Agree. This sums it up pretty good

lol zergs are bigger than 25 in bronze

Try out NSP. Great PvE server (not that it matters that much with guesting). Not zergy, as in you practically never see 30-40 sized groups running around.

Thats only when one large guild is doing a public run or when a zerg commander (not an insult, but a commander the zergs flock to) is running a karma train.
nightly zergs in bronze are not usually that large.
Stat increase = gear grind.
Gear grind = no money from me ever again.
On ET, we rarely experience lag or queues and our population is small enough that everyone matters. We do sometimes see short queues on reset night for 1 map and sometimes get some lag for really big SM and keep battles, but for the most part, we don’t see those problems down in the bottom tiers. The bottom tiers also have GvG and small roaming groups that rely on their skills and couldn’t really do what they do if all they could do was press 1. I saw a couple of bigger zergs last night (20-35 — AR actually had a pretty large group last night) on the Eternal Battlegrounds, but most of the fighting I saw was in the 5-15 range.
While ET has some low coverage times and we do sometimes get matched up against much larger opponents, ET has gotten out of last place through good play and a don’t give up/keep fighting attitude. Every person matters in the lower tiers so if you are looking to be more than a body in a zerg pressing 1 and don’t like queues, I encourage you to look at the lower tiered servers like ET. There are recruitment calls from several of them in the first 2-3 pages of the WvW recruitment forum that can give you a taste of what they offer.
