What are a few servers with WvW activity that usually lasts all day? I was thinking about going to Maguuma or Yaks Bend. Im looking for large populations of WvW players on the server also.

With the links, most servers are fairly populated right now with a few exceptions (like DB). What is your timezone? Do you enjoy big zergs or smaller numbers?

I’m EST, but unless its a weekend I’m normally on after 6pm. I enjoy zergs and the occasional small group.

Yak’s Bend might be a good choice if it is between your choices. From the matchup predictions, it is expected for YB to bounce between T1 and T2 unless something changes. The same applies for TC. TC and YB have some difference in server cultures so you might check this out for which one suits you more.
FA could also be a good choice. Unlike TC/YB, they’re stable in T2 and you would have both zergs and smaller groups to play with.
I can’t say much about T3 and T4 but the last time I was there, some months ago, it also looked healthy and fine.

Just so you know YB often lives and dies by one ultra hard core commander (DK). When he is playing, they are a serious force that presents a strong defense and mounts an effective PPT offense . When he isn’t on, the server tends to move toward skirmish and generally lacks cohesive large scale fighting. If Mag and BG weren’t going at each other non-stop trying to open field fights, YB would be getting murdered in T1.

That said, I really enjoyed my time on YB and it was a low drama server during my time there. I was sad to leave when they became locked and guild members could not xfer there.

Mag is a very active server. I play 2-3 times a day at various hours and have never really felt like I was on an empty server. The downside is that Mag has a lot of map chat drama and tends to get kitteny with “newbs”.

If you get offended easily. Don’t look at Maguuma.

I believe you’ll find what you are looking for on YB, Mag and TC. However, I think you’ll be bored, which was my experience on some of these large servers due to the sheer volume of players and owning the majority of structures.

But ultimately with the servers mentioned, you’ll have quite a number of players present and should never be alone.

YB has a great community but as stated they truly do live or die by a commanders hand, just the facts. But great people do reside on YB.

Mag is acquired taste IMO, kinda like a bad wine but it’ll do. I’ve come across their roamers and they are genuinely fine by me when dueling. I would call them nice? It’s the guilds from my understanding that whine like sweet valley high schoolgirls. Ajax blue would call them boys made from sugar and spice and everything nice I believe if he were gracious enough to show his presence.

TC has a decent community, just very dependable upon volume of players. Just not my style but that server sounds like it might be perfect for you because I have yet to see a dead zone as I am on FA now. I feel like they are bored with T2 and really want to push back up to T1 so it might be the perfect time for you to do so.

FA, I don’t think you’ll like it here. It is very militia and havoc based right now. However, we do have a zerg in the evening that can hang with TC/JQ groups. The community has gotten a little better as of late and got a little toxic there for a bit. You’ll find a good mix of players, defenders, havoc, etc. but never a true massive zerg I guess. You are very alone I’d say 70% of the time.

YB has some great guilds on it and there’s a lot of coordination between them. I’ve been there close to a year now after hopping servers several times with my old guild and the fight quality is better. We’re bouncing between t2 and t1 these days so there’s always good fights to be had. ROLL, AI, BOO are just some of the guilds I can think of.

Hello Reclaimermaster.4107, out of the 3 servers you have chose to look at joining, YB , TC and MAG, i would advise you to stay clear of Maguuma at all costs. Reason being they are not very people friendly and are known to be the most hated server in game. both TC and YB are great servers i myself have only ever been on YB since day 1 and i love it there, everyone is like a family we work as a team and stay together and help each other out at all costs. YB was the dominating server for a long time until the server merges got introduced into WvW and we dropped down a few tiers and have now risen back to tier 1 & 2. YB is busy at all times but are weakest time zone would be SEA. Anyways good luck in choosing you’re server.

If you wanna a example of how Maguuma is, I didn’t recommend Maguuma to you because you’re a ranger main.

I just moved to SoS and there is always someone tagged up. Seems pretty active to me. And it seems to be growing quick as well.

BG, mag, TC and maybe YB atm. BG and mag are by far the most stacked and blobby. I haven’t seen YB since transfers so not sure how they are. They do blob up pretty good so depends on how their coverage is now. I’ve seen all 3 of those run 70+ groups at times.

TC always people on but many times not on tag. Bunch of us run around in random directions doing random stuff. More chaos than havoc.

If you’re a ranger TC or YB should be great servers for your playstyle m8.

Yeah…I’ve seen that wannabe elitists attitude as well. “IT’S NN CAMP, I don’t understand what you mean! LTP!!!! AGRHRHRHRH”. I think it’s funny so I push the snobs buttons more by calling it something they can’t decipher at times furthering the growing rage in map chat.

Mag sounds fun to mess with.

you can barely field 20 people during NA prime, reason being all your guilds left expect PDF/gods/joy

Maguuma is “trial by fire” as someone aptly put during a conversation in EBG a few weeks ago.

You’re not going to have a good time if you can’t laugh at yourself or if you take things too seriously. I find that the core Maguuman community like to do a lot of verbal rough housing. They’ll make fun of each other but it’s only ever playing around unless you get defensive about it.

Every server has a different personality and you can clearly see that even in this thread when people describe a community. Maguuma has a lot of team players and I can depend on people to back me up or to support me if I need it. Those are the things I look for when I move to a server so I know that when things look grim, I won’t turn around to find my teammates running for the nearest Arrow Cart.

As for the question asked by OP

Really any of the T1 or T2 servers would be good choices if you’re looking for high activity. It depends on what you enjoy doing, though. If you have any questions about the different cultures and communities on any of the servers, let me know. I’ve been on every server NA with the exception of BG, DR and AR. I’m familiar with what the people are like from both sides, on and against. Though of course, it’s all subjective so what I say won’t necessarily be factual.
