Would it not be cool to have your server banner flying over objectives as well as your guild/blank one?

Or armor/weapons etc.

that would be nice for the people that have server pride and all, but… NO NICE THINGS FOR WVW’ERS

We already have the colored banners…

Besides, what would the flags be? Who decide? I know exactly which servers would have a flag with 10 arrowcarts stacked on top of each other or the back of a crying quaggan running away. SFR flag would have 1 pixel for each player so it would just be a single color anyway.

And for gunnars it would be an irregular placement of dots

Sound like ready made user contest. I bet quite a few servers already have a website with logo.

Well, there’s an obvious answer to that: Anet, based on the preexisting flavor of the names. (Presumably if you join a server called Seafarer’s Rest you don’t mind a little picture of a ship in the logo somewhere.)

They could design some kinda-innocuous somewhat-abstract logos in-house, or just do a community thing — IIRC they did a community thing to design new guild logo elements in GW1 and it turned out pretty well.

(None of this is to say this idea is necessary, but, practically speaking, it is feasible.)

Well, that’d be amusing at least. Maybe hold a user contest of some sorts?

Also, I think mine should get a castle in the flag.

I think there might be some friction arising from this if pre-existing logos that communities have created for themselves aren’t used.

Hmm, Server Banners would be somethign nice as Gemstore Item for sure for Anet, like the ones that already are there for your Guild Emblems, I see that working also for the Server…

Example:

“Heritage Backpack”
Equip this Backpack to war a Banner of your Heritage on your back, that will show your enemies your pride of your heritage.

Some examples:

Drakkar Lake = See a Banner with a Dragon Motive with ice blue background with a golden thick rim .
Piken Quare = See a Banner with a Pike Motive in a Quare withsome colored background
Sanctum of Rall = See a Cross Motive on colored background with black teared rim for example
Yaks’s Bend = See a Yak Motive …
Ring of Fire = See a Flame Ring Motive on fitting colored background.

So motives and background motives as also the rims of the banners could be something, that varies from server to server to make each server banner look as unique as possible.

I would say ANet Artists come up with 3-4 choices(base it on GW Lore where applicable, i.e. Henge of Denravi, Dragonbrand, or another theme for those like Sanctum of Rall) and then put it to a vote…in game…so you only vote for your home server’s Heraldry.
