Should I move to T3?
Depending of how far of zerging you want to get, the farther away you want to be from top tiers… However the farther away you go from the top tiers, less action you will find on off-hours.

It’s unfortunate that you feel like moving off T1 but I completely understand. The post-season lull has brought out some of the worst zergs I’ve ever seen and it seems that havoc squads are gone.
That said, being an oceanic player, there’s no place BUT T1, for decent fights at least. If you’re an NA player, moving down to silver league might be a viable option. Not for me though

Tier 3 NA player here from Dragonbrand.
Tier 3 is sort of a mix of both worlds. During NA and SEA prime hours maps still queue, megablobs still exist, and there are plenty of large fights and guilds that aspire to excel in large scale fights. That said when you move away from those prime hours things start to change. There are times when there’s nobody out except roamers, or when it’s quiet enough that impromptu dueling rings start up on the more trafficked areas of the map.
Coverage is a big deal here though, since none of the servers are full or cover all the timeslots. While there are times that there’s a zerg out for both sides, or times when nobody but roamers are out for both sides, there are also times when a zerg is out for one side and nobody but roamers on the other. Some of us actually find some amusement in these situations but usually no happy endings.
There is some GvG in tier 3 but it’s smaller and less competitive than higher tiers from my experience. On the other hand, it’s also less stale to a lot of the people involved in this tier because its emergence has been more recent. Guilds here are also more likely to value winning before pride, at least on my server, compared to what I experienced when DB was in tier 2.
So in conclusion, WvW in this tier is probably the transition space. There are times you can come out and get in crazy massive battles, and there are times you when come out and just kind of kick it. A lot of us like the pace here.
Thanks for the feedback guys. Dang this is a tough decision. Though, I figured it would be.

Unfortunately your playstyle fits in T2 . You can join big fights on one map or roam on the other. T2 usually have 2 or 3 roaming maps and 1 or 2 larger fights.
I’ve been playing in T2 since launch.
IMO the current player base is quite new, and a lot of people don’t know what they are doing.
That can pretty frustrating especially if you are coming from T1 where everyone knows how to ninja towers, do upgrades, and stuff like that.
Solo roaming can be a bit tough sometimes as well. We’re currently paired with Yaks and SOS and they have 5+ people guarding camps at all times.

The difference between T1 and T2 is fairly drastic. Also, T2 is losing players to T1 regularly it seems. So T2 may actually give you that balance you are looking for, temporarily. It depends on your time slot that you can play in. The time slot makes a world of difference and I think that is something you should take into consideration prior to moving.
Warrior – The New Burninator! Strongbad would be so proud!
Guardian – Burn for you, heal for me, block for me and uh…sorry Im all out of gifts.
I too am facing difficult decision on where to move, either tier 3 or tier 2, i wanted tier 3 but i am afraid it might be too dead.
I play mainly NA prime time, and sometimes a little later.
In T1 it’s normal to see a full 30+ zerg on each map. Heck at times there are multiple that will turn into a blob of over 50. I’m not looking for that. I guess fighting against a blob isn’t too bad as long as they are only on one map and not all 4 like tier 1.
From what you guys are saying I should really rethink my choice and focus on picking a T2 server.
I really appreciate the feedback all.

If you are NA prime, the servers are all full of people in NA prime and you can o down all the way to t6.
Roaming below T2 sucks. I routinely was able to cap every camp on a BL without seeing a sole. T2 is a roamers paradise when it comes to finding strong fighters and players willing to stray from the herd. Our guild which mainly roams finds consistent fights with guys on FA many of which are exceedingly dangerous… BLNT comes to mind. Even SoS has gotten into keeping small teams at camps making for some great fights.
