Today I completed the 2014 WvW Tournament meta (10 of 10 achievements). I received 50 badges and a luck consumable.

I thought we were getting tickets based on how our server does this season. When I finished the meta I expected maybe a key to open a chest (with tickets and whatever) that Anet would send at the end of the tournament similar to the procedure last season.

What gives? Was I wrong about the ticket thing? Is the procedure different than last season? Do I have to get more than 10/10 for that? (I got the title) Or is there a glitch somewhere?

You get the tickets after the season is over. There will be a merchant where you can buy stuff with the tickets you gained..

The key is a broken lockpick ‘gray’ item… keep hold of it.

Oh yeah! WvW is my favorite part of the game.

The reward is at the END of season. How would anet know how many tickets to give now?

Same as last season. They gave the key to open a chest part way through the season as the meta was completed. Which I took as a nice little extra confirmation. Then, after the season, they gave the chest with the contents based on the standings .

But Devon Carver cleared it all up perfectly one more post below yours. They felt a key was superfluous.

We removed the keys as they seemed an unnecessary step. You will get a chest based on the placement of your world at the end of the tournament.
