I know they are trying to let us decide on the whole linking thing. They are trying to figure out how often to change the links, My question is shouldn’t we wait and see how the whole scoring changes effect WvW first??

I guess because the majority want linking, and looks like they want it changed every Month, Then throw in the scoring changes, transferring worlds will almost be pointless if your wanting to stay in the T1 or T2 worlds.

I know T1 is a complete train wreck, maybe they should consider the re linking when the scores are coverage are completely lop sided. Once they find the right balance for coverage, and scoring, or as close as they can get, then leave things alone for awhile. Thats just my 2 cents.

Anet has some responsibility here with their implementation of linking. Honestly, after this long they should have foreseen world stacking on certain lower pop linked worlds once links were announced.

Links are good for population, but they should lock transfers before announcing the pairs. I know that they make a good chunk of cash via transfers, but at what expense? T2 servers look to be doing anything they can to avoid the cesspit that is T1 atm, and speaking as a player on a T1 server I don’t blame them a bit.

Not sure why ANET let T1 become such a horrible mess. Now everyone is trying to transfer, and it looks like linking is gonna change once a month, so in short, they may of just spent money transfering only to find themselves right back where they started.

I don’t care about the scoring as long as good fights between similar forces go on on alpine borderlands. Linking is good for increasing population on WvW maps and an option for servers balancing. Often relinking will also make transfers less atrractive. And all that is good.

The risk of often relinking is possible imbalance betwen unlinked and newly linked servers. But this shall be managed by improved matchmaking, i.e. score of linked servers shall be somehow divided between those servers after unlinking.

T1 became train wreck, at least in EU, because strong servers were linked with low pop/low transfer price servers, while other not linked top servers were locked for months since they were full. This made even greater imbalance. If the relinking were done once a month, we would never had such situation. The overpopulated servers could be unlinked just after a month to avoid disaster.

Oh I agree, think the re linking once a month is gonna stop the transfers, and maybe stop things from becoming such a mess. I still think anet should of stepped in when they saw how lop sided the coverage was and fixed it. Now some are gonna think they will jump to ET in hopes of getting with BG and having a easy week of karma trains, and steam rolling. Boy are they in for a surprise, and can see lots of rants about how they transferd to a server that is getting owned.

Just glad I decided to stay where I am, see what happens when the smoke clears. May of saved myself some money.

the linking should have occurred weeks after the other patch changes. many came back for the patch. many moved around prior to the patch.

any link made as early as they were made was bound to be bad because it was based on “old” data not “current” data.

YB→YB→YB→YB→YB→YB→YB→most likely YB

It’s pretty foolish to transfer during a highly experimental beta event. I have no sympathy for people moving around trying to bandwagon during this period.

I’m frankly surprised that Anet appears to be going the full 3 months with no attempts at rebalancing though.
