Siege Commander's Spoon
Have not heard of this much time going past before. Dumb question but are you sure it is the WvW spoon and not fractal or whatever? If so contact support.
I would contact the customer support and ask if they can give it to you. Your account is either bugged or you have the most terrible RNG ever. these spoons drop at least once per evening for me
Are you in power gear when running with the zerg? I.e., are even getting credit for the kills? If I take a condi roaming build into a zerg the enemies usually die before my condis can tick. Also slow moving projectiles like staff projectiles won’t even land before the guards explode.
It’s not at all uncommon for this to not drop roaming solo or small group. I do that all the time and rarely get spoons, just because you kill fewer guards than zerging an undefended keep in a few seconds or etc.

It could just be horrid RNG. I have a friend who did regular fractals since the spoon collection came out and never got a fractal spoon until this past month or so (2 years, was it?). I could hear her cheer from halfway ‘cross the country She’d submitted tickets to no avail, it just finally happened for her.
So keep trying and hoping.
I tried running wvw for a bit every day for about a month to get it. No luck. Didn’t play wvw for about three months after that. I decided to pop into wvw last month, just on a whim, and got that kitten spoon from the first guard I killed. RNG is RNG, sadly.
I used to get one every 2-3 days playing 2-3 hours per day.
Yea, it might be a good idea to check if you’re getting credit for tagging guards.
Some builds and classes make it easier to get credit ie. Staff Guardian and/or a weapon with fire sigil.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
I have killed numerous Quartermasters and Veteran Guards solo and according to the wiki they both drop it so getting credit for killing mobs is not the issue.
I had stopped playing WvW when the maps switched and only recently went back to it and still no spoon. I also tried it on my other account and didn’t get one there either although I haven’t run WvW very much with that account.
This is beyond annoying.
I am trying to complete the Achievement Koutalophile but I can’t seem to get this last spoon. I did WvW for at least 6 months, going for hours every day. I have killed everything that I could think of, taken Camps, Towers, Keeps and the Garrison multiple times.
I have run solo, with a few people and with the zerg. Either the drop rate on this item is horrendously low or I am doing something wrong. I believe that the problem is the drop rate and I wish Anet would either fix that or remove that spoon from the collection.
Any suggestions are welcome but please refrain from rubbing my face in how easy it was for you to get it. That is not helping.
I have the same problem. Since the beginning of this year I try to get this spoon. I played WvW in the same way as you describe it. No spoon! Meanwhile, I am not longer motivated and stopped my tries during the last three weeks.
Wow, I was miffed when it took me a couple weeks of playing about an hour per day during my lunch break before I finally got it. I was mostly soloing or playing in small groups so it wasn’t just a matter of getting credit for kills. 6 months not getting is is definitely ridiculous. Definitely contact support.

Actually, it’s the other way around. You are way more likely to get it if you’re solo or in a small group, just because you’ll actually be the one killing the guards. When you’re in a zerg, you’re lucky if you can get a hit in before the guards are dead.
The drop rate has gone down quite a bit over the last year and a half. Just as an example, not to brag, there was a time a couple of years ago I remember having 25 of those things in my inventory on just 1 character and being reluctant to sell them. So they were gathered over the course of maybe a month, now I’m lucky if I get 1 a week. It’s not impossible, the drop rate has gone down and I let others tag stuff more often now.
Awhile back someone asked about this spoon, they’d been at it for awhile too, they finally got it from a vet guard outside a tower.
The best advice is to go for vets and lords, not squishy upgrade guys, kill them if necessary, but focus vets and lords most, go for walled structures whenever possible (towers and keeps), tag everything in the lords room when your team goes in. If you’re walking past a tower kill the guards, go up to a keep and kill the guards outside at each gate (just avoid the cannons), sentry point kill the guard and cap, you see a yak caravan with escorts, murder the guards then kill the yak for fun.
Remember, focus vets and make sure to tag everything if you’re with a group.

I stated it the correct way. I always tag all the guards unless I’m running a roaming build that just jumped into the zerg for a keep battle or something.
I guess you’re good at staying on the commander or running in front of him/her then. In my experience, they dropped a lot more when I was doing small-scale stuff. I paid attention to that because I used to collect these lovely little spoons before anet broke them all.
You only need 1 hit, and the sheer number of guards you kill doing zerg stuff outweighs small scale for me even if you aren’t able to consistently get all the tags. Which if you’re using a power-based build with movement skills and probably a fast ranged weapon should be pretty much all of them.
On the other hand if your zerg is fighting instead of sacking undefended keeps and towers, roaming is probably a lot better.
It all depends on time of day, your build, servers, etc., but zergs certainly have a much higher potential.
I have 169. If I could, I would send you one.
