Is it a feature or is it a bug?
If it is a feature, why does it arbitrarily scales with condition damage when the sieges are balanced around their base damage, that doesn’t scale with power?
If it is a bug, why it hasn’t been fixed in the past 3,5 years?

Yea it’s a bit crazy. I always like to cannon with condi reaper for the crazy op chill ticks. 2500+ condi dmg behind a cannon will mess a small group up really quick.

I’ll cry when they fix it but it should probably get fixed.

We had an ANET Dev run with us a couple of weeks ago when he got roasted by a mortar he was like WTF was that. We were like welcome to your creation.

I agree, the mortar is an absolute monster, especially since the damage ring is bugged invisible 90% of the time so you have no idea where the 4k burn ticks are coming from.

It would be okay if the AoE for the mortar flame round was representative of the actual range at which you take damage. Currently, people walk right through it and accumulate large stack of burning because the animation for the mortar impact site is so much smaller than the radius of effect. I don’t understand why this was changed – the old animation was far better.

I see so many players confused by seemingly random burning application. I wish Anet would remember the importance of skill and animation effects and how they inform the playerbase.

So what are the siege weapons using for condi damage scaling now? Does it assume 0 condi damage (in which case the condi skills are useless)? Or does it use like 1000 condi damage for something in the middle?

The siege with the op damage was the mortar, and maybe cannons. If is YB the ac´s.

These two things are not to cancel eachother out. I dont find dealing more damage with some siege attacks a valueable trade-off to sucking against constructs.

They fixed this, finally, as they should have. Now they need to fix conditions working against structures. Not just in WvW but in pve as well.
