Nice idea, wvw always could have used a tutorial, they kinda did it for spvp.
But to be honest anet is not going to waste development time on that.

Defense Seige crusher/razor is alive and well in EBG. But yes, home defense spawn bl razor should come back, not enemy spawn razor though, that guy was annoying.

A tutorial map would help a lot.
I think the scenario should be small. Something like the lv 1 – 10 free trials of wow or eq.
My favorite was when warhammer made their tier 1 areas f2p. Everyone down leveled to lv20, masses of people fighting in the little starter maps.

I agree that adding a WvW Tutorial map would be beneficial for the game. In fact, I’m pretty much down for any mechanic that rallies new players into WvW and keeps them engaged and educated.

Been kind of wanting a “transition” map from pve to wvw, that is less intimidating to new players that feel unsecure about going into a pvp-mode.

So my question for you is:
What scenarios should the training map cover?
-Talk to an NPC
-choose zerg or roaming mode
-zerg mode: after 5 seconds you will be overrolled by 50 NPC’s
-roaming mode: after 5 seconds you will be instantly killed by 3 dragonhunters and 2 stealthed daredevils
-On screen message: “Congratulations, you’ve completed the WvW tutorial. Get used to it.”
All we wanted was a GvG.

“scout mode”- get instantly ported on a wall with 50 aoe rings and think “this wall is supposed to help defenders rather then attackers”

Actually perhaps one of the training missions should be learning to die and run back…!
One of the hardest things for new players to accept in WvW is that you will die because there is always someone better than you (or you can’t 1v20 and hope to win).
Training: Players are given 1 free seige disabler and limited supply (say 20) for a downed wall with 10 NPCS outside on catas.
What do they do…what do they do?
