It kinda came to me today while I was playing a little bit in WvW.
One slight change that would significantly increase roamer activity in Ruins on all BLs.
Make it so that Ruin cap speed is significantly increased, reduce or remove neutral decap speed, or just in general, allow a single solo roamer (if uninterrupted,) to be able to fully cap Bloodlust for his/her server.
As of now, the minimum amount of people you need to be able to cap Bloodlust on a map is 2 people. Reduce this to 1, and I do believe that we’ll see a lot more action in the ruins.
Ruins are kind of like defending… there isn’t much WxP, gold or karma in it, few points that count towards the server score and more sitting than action. In contrast, capping a camp is reasonably rewarding, counts toward the score and has a much better chance of finding a fight.
Ruins are a good concept but further illustrates how ANet really doesn’t get effective loot design.

If you give loot for capping ruins, you’ll see small zergs wandering around bloodlust to cap them, just like it was back in week 1-2 of leagues. Hell no.

Because unlike the ruins, the camps don’t uncap themselves. Once you’ve captured it, it stays captured until an opponent comes to change that.
with ruins, you can be alone on the map, going around in a circle all day recapping the ruins over and over and over.
attaching any kind of reward to that would just turn it into the newest karma train
There should be something shiny in the middle of ruins. Like orichalcum ore to encourage players to go collect it, while also encouraging small scale fights in those areas
I don’t agree that one person should be able to cap the ruins for Bloodlust. It’s good right now and creates good fighting opportunities for groups of 3+
