Here is a simple and easy fix for the WvW Tournament rewards.

One so simple, that it blew my kitten mind when I found out that the rewards were /not/ going to work this way:

As it stands, at the end of the season, based on your server’s standings you get tickets. So many tickets equals a certain reward. More tickets means you can buy better things, the weapons being the best reward.

That sounds simple enough, but it means that the lower ranked servers will not get a weapon, and dont even get a /chance/ at a weapon for several seasons.

Here is how we can fix it:

Keep the above, but add one small thing…

When you fight other players during the tourney, each kill has a chance to drop a ticket. Make them rare enough to be..well..rare…but not so rare that you wont be able to get quite a few (since you need several hundred for a weapon) So a dedicated wvw player could earn enough tickets in a week or two of play to earn a weapon on his/her own.

That way at the end of the 9 weeks, even the lowest ranked players would have enough for several weapons if they played hard enough to get them. The top ranked servers would have the same reward as everyone else, but they would get an additional free weapon atop of that as a freebie for being high ranked. Meaning that it was mainly just prestige… not something you had to fight so hard just to get a reward at all.

Each season would have a new set of weapons to collect.

I have an easy fix.

dont give any tournament rewards out.

(why would you leave if you have nothing to gain?)

Everyone is going to be able to get the weapons if they want. You just won’t get them from the tickets but there will be a way to craft them if you really want one.

Did you see what you need to use to craft them? You need the items from the tickets, enough that you would be able to buy one. It is so that if you got say 300 tickets this season, you bought the one item…then next season you buy the other piece, and put them together.

I don’t see a problem in that, sure you have to wait but you will still be able to get it. I understand the people stuck on losing servers. I’m on Dragonbrand, we’ve lost every match so far (think we came in second once). We aren’t getting any fancy weapon skins.
I do agree with your ticket drop from killing enemy players though. Those actually fighting for their servers get a chance at more loot than the achieve hunter that disappear after the first week.

No. Look up the crafting requirements.

Easy fix – Be sure your server isn’t ranked low at the end of the season.

Another easy fix – Transfer to a better server before a season starts. Anet should allow some free transfers before Season 3 begins. That’s how HoD got so strong.

Obtaining better coverage is an easy fix? This must be some new definition of easy.

For those in guilds this is not an easy fix and not an answer.

Like this idea you get rewards for doing WvW,not just by being in server with the most coverage…
