Q:
Single hardest to kill class
Depends on how you play entirely. I don’t die much with my tanky-warrior. Also guardians are hard to kill when they actually try to just stay alive. Necros… mh. Yes they do have a high health-pool but the squishy armor brings them down…

I would say the guardian is more suited for that role.
They can spec to be very hard to be killed. In this spec they can also give a lot of shouts and boons to nearby allies. They can also give whole groups run speed. Just seems like the perfect leader class if specced into it!
Being a thief, I think we are hard to kill;). Just try to kill us when you’re capping a supply camp while we are in stealth and picking you off.
on my thief, if i play perfectly, i have yet to find a situation where i can be killed by 1, 5, or even 10 enemies.
i know you asked between warrior, guardian, and necro.. but there are ways to build and play thieves that allow the player to pretty much never die unless they screw up. We aren’t all burst damage, and I would argue anyone of the three classes you list would be hard pressed to outlive a well played thief in any situation you want to put one in.
I personally like two call upon two thieves and have them distract you while I go in stealth.
This is one secret to stop us, tho people don’t do it much. And I don’t even think they know what they did is how they stopped us. (if that makes sense)
as a guardian i have a hard time killing thieves (so many teleports, speed buffs)
A thieves playstyle (moving around a lot, not moving in straight lines to a target, other stuff…) just do not fill the commander role though, yes they are hard to kill but they need to be confusing the enemy to really stay alive for a long time. As a commander what you want to be able to do is to actually physically lead your squad into the enemy forces and stay alive through that without having to completely withdraw from the fight in between to regen health. You wanna rush in, stay in there and stay alive. I would still rate classes to lead with in this order:
Guardian > Warrior > Ranger (god they can be tanky!) > Necro

Guardian or Warrior.
Thief is impossible to kill if he wants to stay alive, but mostly does so by running away with its numerous stealths, blinks and speedbuffs. Not what you want for a commander who you need present at the frontlines.
Have you considered Elementalist? They can be quite tanky and supportive aswell.
Mesmers make good commanders. They get invis for sneak attacks and render bombs. Can portal golems for quick strikes on water gate. Have clones so the enemy doesn’t know which to target. Once down, they can be a pain to kill.
4-5 mesmer can make it look like a zerg of 50 are attacking somewhere
Well spec necros are quite survivable and supportive. Lots of protection, condition removal, and heals. I tend to be first into the fire in a zerg fight and can walk away unscathed if I play properly.
Oh yeah, I’d say Guard to be commander. They just look like they fit the role.
1v1 guardians arn’t too impressive but when in a group they can be quite good
my vote to guardian for commander
Elementalist full Vit/Toughness – support build with healing
