When i played DAOC, I often soloed and small manned in RvR, i ended up getting about the same about of Realm Points per hour as most Zergers, This game is the complete opposite, It pretty much forces you into running a big ball of zerg over everyone..Its the kind of mindless play that honestly shouldn’t be catered to as much as it is.

Part of the problem Xsorus is the complete lack of grouping system. If you want to run a small force or 2-4 groups you simply have no in-game option. Using a commander and squad system to do small/medium private force is impossible.

If they actually had in game grouping tools for players and guilds to set up for private grouping perhaps we’d actually have smaller sized forces running around. Currently it’s either a 5 man or a zerg.

Splitting WXP would be nice, but I think we’ll have to wait for Camelot Unchained for that to happen.

Well, his problem is that the game is all about objectives, which get flipped fast by large forces.

WvW is extremely objective oriented. Killing reinforcements, defending to slow attackers, etc., all give little reward.

Just have to do it for fun. Plus the rank rewards are not needed, except the AC range one. That ups its range so much, I consider it a must have now.

In general, the devs seem to have this idea that WvW should only be big fights. If you want smakll fights goto sPvP. Granted sPvP gets old fast but that is what they seem to want.

Yeah, Anet devs seem a little out of touch when it comes to small group play in WvW. I do think that making towers/keeps easier to defend with arrow carts, and thus keeping the zerg busy doing what the zerg was intended to do, was a step in the right direction.

Yeah, I definitely think we could use more defense. I would have preferred stronger gates and maybe a 20% boost to AC damage. Not sure what effect the changes will have, ight make the zergs even bigger, heh.

It would be nice if 20+ people within a certain close distance of each other (zerg) would automatically get a Debuff: -75% Swiftness Duration. and a Buff: +75% Stability Duration. Similar to outmanned buff but it’s a special effect for zergs.

Swiftness is not hard to keep up even with -75% duration you can easily keep up 1 min. Running as a small group we can maintain maximum swiftness all the time (3 minutes) while most of our swiftness doesn’t even apply due to maximum stacked duration. As for stability… why the %$^& would you do that? Only way to counter blobs is to split them open and cc them til they drop their keyboards on the floor and ragequit. So you propose if a server runs with 80 people they should be indestructible but slow moving? What’s that good for? All we could do is run from them. Think you confused this with some PvE boss
I’d just make a few adjustments to boons, e.g.: might can only stack up to 5. There’s a cooldown on getting regeneration, protection and aegis after it expired on you. – Just a few ideas, but it should be applied to groups with 20+ players and gradually increase with numbers so 1-2 ‘pugs’ wouldn’t ruin a guild’s run, but big blobs would be discouraged. Zergs should still have an advantage over small groups but small groups would have more chance to counter them. This could also be flipped around and say, if you’re outmanned in a certain area (not map) you get the following:

  • Regeneration can stack up to 2 stacks intensity instead of duration stacking.
  • Protection also stacks like regeneration up to 2 stacks.
  • Both regen and protection get their duration increased by 50% for the group.
  • Might stacks would go up to 35 instead of 25.
  • Fury gets a 25% duration increase.
  • The amount of experience/WXP gained for each kill is related to the number of opponents/number of allies in combat. E.g.: a group of 20 destroying a group of 60, each worth 60 WXP. The WXP gained is calculated like this: Winning team -> 20 – 60 <- losing team. Ratio is 20/60 or 1/3 so the WXP/kill will be tripled, granting 180 WXP to each player. Similarly, if the fight ends up the other way around, the WXP for the enemy team gets 1/3’ed therefore each player earns 20 WXP for each kill. There could be a maximum to this so people wouldn’t gather around tons of friends on other servers to exploit with 1v20’s, etc.

The above stated wouldn’t give an instant advantage to small roaming groups. It would support skilled small groups that know how to use boons properly and can stack the appropriate boons at the right time. Disorganised smaller groups would gain no extra advantage from this. There should be a medium-sized icon flashing (not to be too irritating) to show players exactly when they have the buff/debuff therefore being able to react to this. There could be a hand holding a sword pointing upwards as the new outmanned buff, maybe called ‘Battle Fury’ which grants the boon stack and duration bonuses. Or they could make a separate icon for the zerg debuff similarly.

If you are tired of fighting bad players who ONLY Zerg, we are hosting a meeting tonight about getting all or most of the small man / 5 man guilds to t8. We want real player vs player…. Not pvdoor, not “here’s the zerg, let’s go sit on a cannon or ac for an hour”, straight up roaming to kill other players.

I’m talking running small numbers and avoiding your OWN Zerg so what you fight isn’t (for the most part) ruined by your own adds.
