Guild Wars 2

This is my first post on the official forums, Let me just start out by saying I’m a huge fan of this game and it has been my first mmo.

And while Anet has added several updates and new features to WvW over the past 2 years I was thinking of another way that players can be rewarded. This idea came from how Anet rewarded players for the recent tournament.

My suggestion is this, a weekly (I chose weekly because matches last one week) WvW achievement similar to the one this past season. Where at the end of the week players who completed the achievement would receive a reward chest.

But the idea doesn’t stop there, arenanet has introduced alot of weapon skins via the black lion chests, now this may be a stupid idea but depending how well the world performs 1st, 2nd or 3rd players who completed the weekly meta would appropriate currency that can be saved up to purchase these skins with 1st place winners getting more( say if you place 1st for 3-4weeks in a row you can afford 1 weapon skin, of whatever exchange rate anet wants to come up with).

Another way this could go if they don’t want to award the skins they can reward players with gold based on how many wvw ranks they got, say the world that placed first players get 1 gold per rank….or 50 silver….don’t want to ruin the economy after all, of course this will probably involve nerfing the current reward chest you get per level as it gives both silver an items.

Well that’s the rundown of my idea, is it a bad idea or stupid idea, it probably is, in which case I apologize for wasting your time but I felt that I should post it. Or if someone also posted this suggestion also I apologize again

What I especially like on this linked idea is: There is a competition for the achievements, not only farming.

A weapon skin (or black lion ticket) for the top 100 players in the overall achievement could be a nice additional reward
