… and it was madness. Pure, unadulterated, crazy, madness.

It was nuts…..and it was a ton of fun.

Even though I just got t level 80, I don’t think I was properly prepared for this as I certainly don’t have any high end traits yet (are any needed?) and I’m pretty sure my weapons and armor are not the best for this.

I pretty much just followed the zerg around and did the best I could and rezzed others when and where I could. I did get killed a couple times, especially when a red horde just spawned out of the ground (how are they doing that?), and there were a couple times when I found myself alone. Talk about paranoia!

Good times, I’ll probably try it again soon.

Did the enemies pop out of a glowing pink circle on the ground?

It’s possible I guess. I think I was too busy saying “Oh kitten!” to notice.

When enemies show up on you out of the blue they may have used aoe stealth skills like mesmers veil/mass invisible.

Entire zergs just appearing in front of you, now that was real madness!

I do miss the fun we had during the first few months, before all the nerfing.

At that time, you didnt see half the enemy zerg in the first place due to culling.

Only getting killed a couple of times for your first time in there isn’t bad!

Admit it, this is what you really meant, right? Right?

If you get full exotic equipment, you will be fine. Check the metabattle for some builds to help (play how you enjoy). Some of the roaming builds are pretty fun, but some of the zerg builds are also good so long as you are with the zerg. Have fun on your adventures, it really is one of the more exciting aspects of the game. WvW has its moments =)

Welcome to wvw! I hope you enjoy your stay. To get the most out of it, try to join a wvw guild that’s willing to help newbies out. There are some things that aren’t entirely obvious until you learn the ropes (upgrades order, why you shouldn’t attack a gate with your weapon, siege placement, siege masteries, etc).

yea…those good ole days when all servers were qued and every class was broken so they were all OP, and therefore balanced!

Orbs…Culling…portal bombs (unlimited)…plus AOE’s that weren’t capped.

You may also want to see if the server you’re on has a central voice communication they use, and join it for wvw.

Funniest post I’ve seen all week, after more than 2 months of not doing their job!

Go watch some Red Guard from days long past and see how glorious wvw used to be. Good to see you’re enjoying it, but its a shadow of its former glory.
