The only reason I started WvW after playing GW2 since launch are the LS achievements. So tell me, why is Demolition Expert and Camp Vanquisher not progressing ? I’ve been WvWing for days and just noticed that.

How come Dreaming Bay has a WP on one map but not on the other map? Same with our server’s map’s garrison? We’re holding dreaming bay and garrison and we don’t have WP’s there…or we hold the keep on the east of the map and one time there’s a WP there and another time it isnt…

can someone explain this ?

you have to do significant damage to the guild lord to get those credits – if you get the drop from the guildlord, chances are you got the credit ….if you get no drop …then you didn’t contribute enough damage to count as an achievement. At least my theory because I’ve noticed it also.

I don’t know how to answer the first question, I’m assuming it’s a bug.

Well, waypoints in keeps are building upgrades. You need to pay silver or gold to get the quartermaster to begin the upgrade. The yaks that spawn at the supply camps on the map will all walk towards a keep. Keep them alive, and they will give your keep the supply it needs to build those building upgrades.

Waypoints have to be built. When you capture a tower or keep you can que up upgrades. Upgrades require supply in the base. Supply comes from dolyaks that walk them from supply camps. Waypoints can only be built in keeps. If you go in the keep look in the upper right corner and you can see what the progress of the current upgrade being made is. As far as the achievements I had heard that the demolition expert is bugged or something. You don’t need all of them for the chest so i’m just going to skip that one.

Demolition Expert requires you to do X amount of damage to a gate or wall. It is obviously easier to hit this damage threshold with siege but you can attack a gate (not walls) with your weapon and do damage. Its like tagging it for loot. Camp Vanquisher, I don’t know the correct answer, I have the same issue, I’m 5/50 and I’v flipped a lot more than that.

The only WP on the map that are consistent are the spawn WP. So Citadel and the 2 far south WP for the other servers. WP on Bay/hills/garrison/ebg keeps/SMC are all a upgrade of the keep. When you first take the keep it has nothing and someone can start a upgrade. Things like stronger walls/gates cannons/mortars, more guards, and a WP. These upgrades cost supply from the keep.

Heh, one of our “off” pin commanders built himself a Cata during the 3 hour fight at Hills on JQ last night and spent 20 min. taking the a section of outer wall down by himself, while everyone was battling on the keep lord to get himself Demolition credit.

For the camp capture one, maybe you have to still be in the circle when its capped? I know you can get credit without being in the circle, but it might be like those other achievements (TM mode ones of SAB) where you have to be withing x distance of the circle.

well i’m a zerk mesmers, full best gear with best zerk skills and a gs w ssword / focus and i’m there from when the gate was at 100% got it to 50% with zerg, got rebuilt to 100% by them, then we destroyed it and i didn’t get a progress

so i guess without siege weapons it’s IMPOSSIBLE to progress this, which is suuuuper lame

i’ve vanquished another camp just now, ogre camp in EB and i didn’t get a 1 point for it…stil at 0

well i’m a zerk mesmers, full best gear with best zerk skills and a gs w ssword / focus and i’m there from when the gate was at 100% got it to 50% with zerg, got rebuilt to 100% by them, then we destroyed it and i didn’t get a progress

so i guess without siege weapons it’s IMPOSSIBLE to progress this, which is suuuuper lame

i’ve vanquished another camp just now, ogre camp in EB and i didn’t get a 1 point for it…stil at 0

It was suggested that being in a group helps, as you get group tag benefits (damage share).

That said, I just dropped my own superior ram when we ran up to a tower. That way I got to man it. Did so for a fair bit of damage then handed it off to someone with ram mastery.

You should know that, as a Mesmer, Anet deplores the idea of you being able to tag anything. For shame.

Pvdoor within group of 5 almost always advances demo expert and is way faster than trbbin down walls.
