They shouldn’t allow any sub 80 players into wvwvw. Any sub 80 is complete cannon fodder 1v1. Others just hit harder, not because of skill, but because of gear.

How is this any different than pvp in Wow?

I was surviving longer as a sub level 70 in WvW than I am now as an 80. (I think it is mostly with me now being too kitteny, but you get the point).

Low levels are fine in WvW, you don’t need full exotics to run supply, fix walls, scout, etc etc etc.

While I will do the rest of those things when needed, I want to be competitive in a fight. I also, go figure, want a fair fight against the other guy. You don’t think fairness is important? Why don’t we just always have the other team win? Whatever server they are, they get an auto-win button? It’s a stupid example, but so is your suggestion.

The point you are missing is it is WvW not PvP, if you are wanting to go have a fair fight go to sPvP. WvW run in big groups, the little guys help in the big groups, more dps, more meat shielding, confusing who they should really be targetting. So they get 1 shot, thats 1 shot the mega 80 cannon didnt have to take.

sPvP is the thing you’re looking for.

Well if you wanna go that way fine. This is one of the stupidest things I’ve read in this forum.

Everyone has the same disadvantage when it comes to having lower levels in their WvW. If you’re running around by yourself trying to “duel” other random stragglers, then of course you are only going to come across inexperienced sub-80’s because noone (cept scouts) are stupid enough to run around solo in WvW.

If you are doing this, you are just doing your own server a disservice.

Go check out sPvP, sounds moee like your thing.

You are in the wrong place.

WvW is team based, it has little to do with “skill” (still amuses me that people think a game takes skill … “hey, look how stylishly I can press buttons”, skill mykitten).

You want SPvP not WvW.

WvW does take skill, of the group. When my guildies roll out, we smash zergs twice or three times our size. WvW is not about 1v1 fights.
Even though on my 80 Thief, when I scout seeing 1 person alone and just smashing there face in quickly.

Low levels are useful in their own right.

Most of them realize that they are not huge dmg dealers, so instead they focus on support skills and logistics.

My guild has SEVERAL low levels who play WvW and we as a small team can take supply fast, defend ourselves from enemies and win battles.

I would say that is the goals of WvW combat.

and low levels are fine. the difference in stats from gear isn’t that massive to make it a large enough difference. if you are 1v1’ing people in wvw you are doing it wrong.

Well it’s skill based once everyone reach lvl 80 and get exotic gear, which is very easy in this game. At that point everyone will be equally strong in term of equip and the difference will be made by skill and strategies.

It’s great that we’re allowed to go to wvwvw since lvl 1 and potentially be able to grow our characters there (tho pve is so great in this game that it would be dumb not playing that too).

PS: yes there will always be “some” lower lvl in WvWvW but not as it is now that they are probably the majority.

SPvP is skill based. WvW is strategy based. Sub 80 characters can carry just as much siege as lvl 80 characters. That’t what really matters.

It is skill-based. I’ve been rolfstomping anyone in my way since I was lvl 15, often not dying at all the whole day. It doesn’t matter what stats 80s have when I can dodge/reflect/block all their attacks.
