Tarnished Coast is desolate, Mag is sandbagging, and BG has people on around the clock. I honestly don’t even care about PPT or the score or whatever else, but WvW is unplayable right now and I’d rather it not be unplayable for the next 4 months or however long it takes to relink the servers.

Thats the problem with linking: Before only the server population + amount of wvw guilds were the factors. Now you have the randomness of linking + people abusing the cheap transfers.
So how to farm every WvW-Fight: Transfer with your WvW buddies and cmds on a low pop server that usually gets linked with T1, and every link the T1 server will be glad to have you and farm the others. System is broken

543 point system is the culprit. They put in that thing without good reason and now they don’t pay attention anymore.

Before after relinking, we usually have glicko shifting quickly and shrinking server fell out of T1. Now with 543 point system, the tier gets essentially locked. Even if you performed the absolute worst possibly, you will still be regarded as 60% of the top server’s strength by glicko calculation.

No. This isn’t the issue. It may be the reason for this purported ‘maguuma strike’ but it’s not the issue with BG.

Mass stacking to jack up one server (Maguuma) has always been an issue.
Blackgate overstacking has always been an issue.

Unless ANet puts in serious work to limit servers’ ability to overstack the problem won’t be fixed.

Core servers need to be permanently closed.
Population caps for link servers need to be very low. Link servers need to be easy for ANet to spin up.

Wow. That’s actually messed up. >.> I had no idea that even happened. Like I said, I don’t really pay attention to the score because it’s not my thing. I just like fights.

I’m linked to TC atm, which isn’t something I really mind, but this matchup has kept me out of WvW all week. There’s literally nothing to do. I was holding out for reset to see if things changed, but obviously it stayed the same- and now I know why. Now I have to consider paying for a temporary server xfer in order to play the mode at all because I don’t want to leave my guildies and they aren’t active enough to spend resources moving around.

I’m sure this thread will be locked in the morning because we aren’t supposed to talk about matchups, but it’s kinda whatever. There isn’t anywhere else to get these issues addressed- and there’s no reason I should have to pay for a xfer with gold/gems/money I don’t have so I can play the only mode I enjoy.

543 is not the issue. The issue is Mag is purposfully tanking. Why? You’d have to ask them. Maybe because they lost their link and couldn’t handle T1 anymore? Maybe they don’t like the scoring system, maybe a bunch of guilds just transferred. I haven’t heard. They barely showed up all last week. So, their Glicko dropped them hard. If they continue to tank, then it will continue to drop.

Someone has to be 3rd. TC is there because of topsy turvy 3rd, 4th, and 5th place servers and the horrid population algorithms that Anet used before last week’s change. Add to that all the manual glicko adjustments and you get a weird situation. There’s been a lot of grass is greener on the other server here, too. Servers with links, like TC usually don’t have the centralized communication and community like a server without a link, so they are usually always weaker. Keep in mind, all this stuff moves slowly. It takes weeks for servers to go up or down.

You look at EU and it’s the same stale match week after week as well. ANET sits idle and does nothing.

Everyone wants fights, and T1 is regarded as somewhere where they aren’t any. Therefore, you have people doing whatever they can to stay away. Mag knows it, and I think even BG knows it, but you’d never get a BG to admit that there’s something good in any other tier, because …. well, it’s BG and they have some weird T1 fetish. It would take a scoring change to fix it, or anet stepping in.

EU is okay on t1, we’re enjoying it quite a lot with 2 international fighting servers being stuck T1 because national servers can only bring large strong groups during weekends (so essentially you dont want to face against them).

But they linked the already stacked t1 servers so people just transfer to tier 1 to join the fights

Lots of players have already moved from mag and tc, they’re not in eotm, they’re in better matchups.

Honestly speaking. I did suggested some time back to not link the top few servers but that is because it were the biggest servers. However, recently there are changes made to the algorithm and I suspected there are changes to the global server cap, I am not sure if the top few servers are the biggest any more.

Still, there are changes made, things that I am unable to figure out to make reasonable suggestions, a total blackbox for me.

Except they lost their link 2 months ago and were still beating t1.

Mag players already said why the server is tanking, guilds continue to move and players don’t want to try hard getting fights from BG anymore plus a dead server. TC lost a lot of guilds and now stuck in kitten a bad roll when it should have been jq.

Maybe don’t like scoring system, lol, pretty clueless remark about maguuma.

Go to EoTM, fights are more even and more numerous. Leave the stacked servers with nothing to do, they’ll disperse.

One of the reasons why I took an extended break awhile ago was because TC was essentially a T1.5 server. Too strong for T2, but not populated enough for T1. End result, in T2, there was nothing to do, so I got bored and left, and I know I wasn’t the only one.

So leave the stacked servers to bore themselves to death until they leave or switch.

Anets fault not players and is for real

Anet doesn’t control fairweathers. The T1 culture of hibernating and coming out to ktrain is the players fault. One week BG is crying it has no pop. Another week they got 24/7 map queues. lulz
