they are giving you/us w/e back the old maps, correct right?

point is i quit back then i never bought HoT cus i disliked whole new WvW, so obviously i wonder now if i return and buy HoT can i still stick to WvW and do all my masteries or w/e it was that people needed? or im forced to go out and PvE my stuff together cus then i still dont see a point of returning.

You can do wvw and get your masteries using the wvw chests. There are proofs of heroics that you get and can turn in for points toward your elite specs..

They also upped the amount of coin that you get from wvw as well. I think yesterday I made 30g from wvw. You can also get drops as far as ascended items, I got two, one was my weapon and other was my chest piece. one per week from my rank up chests.

You might want to hold off on buying until you have a few hundred proofs of heroics so you can level up your specialization. That way you can see if you still enjoy the game after all the ridiculous crap that they added to WvW without paying them first. Plus there is no point in using the specializations until they are fully unlocked.

You’re going to have to PvE your kitten off if you want a lot of the new gear, unless they changed that in this patch.

im not sure about the map :p i just heard some people saying they are bringing back the old map and if i would return now.

as for my gear i dont know i have full ascended gear apart from my weapons, tho having people with better gear doesnt bother me that much.
ill just update the game this weekend and play abit and see if WvW is going into right direction again.

Patch notes did look good for wvw (first time i see this ever since i started gw2 )

You need to look at the gear stats HoT introduced. A good example is the viper gear. They nerfed condi duration food but they introduced gear that increases condi duration and locked it behind a pve pay/grind.

Basically they made it so that if you buy HoT and pve you will be even stronger than you were before. If you don’t pve you will be weaker and there is no way too just purchase the gear or earn it in wvw because you need a pve currency exclusive to 1 map to get it and it’s account bound.

I’m really not trying to discourage you from returning but you should definitely try playing for a couple weeks before giving them any money. I don’t want you wasting 50 bucks and then quitting because you got caught in a chilling fog and bombed by an airship.
